How Hot Should a Skate Feel After Baking?

Recommended Posts

I had my Vapor XXXX baked for the first time on Saturday. When I had my XXs baked I remember the skates feeling pretty hot on my feet. After baking the XXXXs, they only felt slightly warm (I was not wearing socks). Should the interior of the skate feel hot? I'm pretty sure my skates were not adequately heated because the ankle pads did not mold.

It should feel moderatly hot. Maybe high medium and not uncomfortable. Temperature is not the easiesr to describe but anyways go back and do it again, no harm in that.

In my eyes, the best option is (or was..) when you are not sure how something has to work out or how something has to happen, go to your LHS, pay some extra bucks and feel comfortable to get a treatment from someone who (should) know(s) his job.

Vapor XXXX Skates should be baked at 175 degrees for 3 minutes. Bake them once then go and skate. If they still have a pressure point that is bothering you then you can bake them a second time at the same temp and time. Remember there is a difference between "New Skate" feel and a pressure point
