This sucks...

No hockey on TV, torn hamstring last week means no ice for the next month or two (hopefully not longer). I am really at a point where I don't know what to do with my time. I can only do this for so long. I HATE THE OFFSEASON.

Duuuude..don't even get me started. I don't have any injuries like yourself, but I'm gonna have to drive 4 hours for ice time...and given my schedule, the chance of me having enough time for that is pretty slim.

We've got 2 stadiums here in town, and they both got rid of the ice about a month ago. I hate summer...in a way.

NHL awards show on TV this Thursday

June 22nd - NHL Draft on TV

July 1st - Free Agency begins

July 5th, we start to hear about Salary Arbitration

July 9-14th prospects camp - (at least here in DC, I'm sure most teams have them)

July 20-August 4th - Arbitration hearings, beginning the talk of "will they walk, ohh, thats too much, hmm, I hope they don't pay that for him"

August 6th - Salary Arbitration decision deadline

September - TRAINING CAMP!!!!!

September 29th - OPENING NIGHT

There is no off season, you just need to be more positive about it.

Sorry about your hamstring, hopefully I will go injury free, I have a league game every friday night, perfect way to kick off the weekends

I miss Saturday night hockey on TV from 7 until I pass out during a Canucks game....Jim Hughson: "and Josh Green, from Camrose, Alberta, former Medicine hat Tiger, Swift Current Bronco, and Portland Winter Hawk....." I miss Don Cherry and Kelly Hrudey between the periods. I like seeing a snow flurry outside Rexall Place before the game starts on HNIC.....

Hockey is the only sport I never get burnt out on. Playing football in high school by the last week or two of the season I was always sick of going to practice, the games weren't as exciting, and I stopped following the NFL until the play-offs. Track & Field, rugby, and what not were the same way.

I took a break off hockey this season, and I was okay with it until I played some pick up a couple weeks ago. I'm going nuts now I need to get on the ice!

Hammy is doing well. It is becomming more apparent that it is either just a pulled muscle or I have developed Wolverine (X-Men not Michigan) like healing powers. I had PT Wednesday, resumed my regular workouts Thursday (although at a greatly reduced intensity), and i am planning on getting on the ice Monday evening (depending on how Monday's PT session goes). Looks like I will finally get to do more than just wear the new skates around the house.

Get a neoprene wrap for your thigh to keep your hammy warm when skating. I wear them all the time when playing. One of them fell apart before my last game and I didn't wear one on my left leg. By the third period, my hamstring was starting to feel a twinge. Any good medical/surgical supply store will stock them. Try to find a wrap style, not the sleeve. The sleeve never fits right on your thigh and always falls down. Good luck.
