Ultimate Ice to Roller Conversion Setup

Recommended Posts

Hey Fury of One we have similar taste in skates.......

CCM 655 Tacks w/Sherwood E-Frames and Hyper wheels. I am considering the yellow Labeda Grippers for indoor this winter.

Yup, those are sweet skates. I wish I could call CCM and see if they have any 655s left over. :P

You might check on Ebay. I don't remember the name of the place where I got mine on line a few years back but the same place lists them on Ebay in a size 6 for like $50.00. They also list the 755 Kevlar Tacks boot in very limited sizes for the same price but also Hockey World is selling the old 755 Kevlar Tacks in the roller hockey section in size 7 and the 842 Kevlar Tacks in size 8 and 8 1/2 for $89.00 and they come with the Sure-Grip chassis.

Good Luck

Rick Henry

Sorry about the double post. I'm not sure how I did that.

I do like them, they are little on the heavy side though. After getting properly fitted at Cooke's I realized I've been wearing the wrong size skates for years. My skates were always either too loose, or cutting off my circulation. The Vectors are perfect and were molded correctly to my feet. They are also mounting the chassis for free, and threw in some extra laces. Tough to beat that kind of service.

Still waiting on the Trinity's but I thought the orange RR's looked kind of cool.

Has anyone ever done an inline to ice conversion? I'm not considering it, just wondering. Also does anyone have tour ice skates? How are they? Pointless question now (or more pointless), why wouldn't have tour updated their website since putting out the carbons, are they waiting until they have all their new stuff on the market. cobalt, Q, etc.?

I skate on

Ice : Vapour XXXX

Roller: One90's, Tuuk rocker Chassis, Rink Rats, Bones Super Swiss 6.

I have been lucky finding great deals on skates, I would only change them in one way if - maybe a sprung chassis? hmmm

Shoulder's getting better. I have been stickhandling around the kitchen with a golf ball.

However, it will all change on Friday when I have my 3rd foot surgery in 13 months....my implant is failing so they are going to put a different model in. The recovery is about 3 months, and I can't play again until February anyway because of the shoulder, so it's a wash.

Women have been fighting for "equal rights" for years......so I think that if you are having it done, have the wife get some "implants" to keep you entertained during your recovery. ;)

Best of luck as always.
