RBK 9K O-Tech Initial Thoughts

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I weighed a 9K vs a SE and the 9k was 1 oz heavier. As others have said, it's not necessarily the weight rather the balance and feel and more importantly the performance, so let's see just how it performs over the long run once it hits the market.

See? That's just 30 grams (ok, 28 to be exact). People need to focus on it the way Jimmy has - durability, balance, and performance and get past the weight thing. Too many people focus on this and get less substance for more money as a result of being so narrow of focus.

Gonna have to agree with you on the high kickpoint...it's ridiculous.

I didn't notice the line you mentioned on the fusepoint before or after skating. I'll keep an eye on it.

Manufacturers mostly advertise the raw weights of the product, take a raw shaft and a raw blade with no decals or paint or grip or anything and add the 2 together. Then think about all of the finishing products, glue to fuse it together, paint, decals, grip. It doesn't take much when you are dealing in grams!

Also, I figured it would be a Warrior posting that was talking about using scales and 28 grams! LOL

I can't believe their marketers haven't go to that already. The Warrior replacement dime bag!

Just got off the ice after beating it up a bit more.

Really nothing new to report - it's still got kick on slappers and the fuse point isn't getting worse. I'm just not feeling it on wrist shots - I can't tell if it is the stick or personal preference at this point. I should have a conclusion nailed down after a few more times.

Could be the high kickpoint that is effecting your wristers. You're probably too used to the low kickpoints of the Flyweights.
