Hazard14 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2007 The first pucks were cow kneecaps.werent they cow "patties" aka shitJust some facts will add more later-The first puck was square, not round.-A puck sometimes moves at speeds of more than 150 MPH-Originally, games were played with 9 players on a side-The name hockey comes from the French word "hoquet", which is a shepherd's crookalso fighting is somewhat tolerated, unlike most sportsCanada and the Soviet Union have been the two dominant countries in Olympic ice hockey. The two countries have won 14 out of the 19 Olympic tournaments
Maka 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 I'm pretty sure the first pucks were simply balls that eventually got the tops and bottoms cut off to leave flat portions so it was less bouncy on ice. Maybe I'm wrong.
Hazard14 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2007 i dont know exactly, but i do know it was started by british soldiers stationed in canada during the winter. it seems plausible that it could be a frozen peice of cow shit, or a flat ball
