Focus groups. Most manf use them. Sit hundreds of kids down and flash different skates at them, they pick what they like best. You're just to old and resistant to change! :D Personally, if it's not black, I don't like it. But the buyers do, and they are kids who will buy approx 13 or more pairs of skates before they hit age 18. Wheras us old folks may buy one or 2 pairs every 20 yrs.

I agree with Jimmy about the black. My son (6) loves his Vectors, and I cannot imagine an uglier skate. The most important thing is they fit great, but I feel he looks like a midget clown out on the ice in them. He should be driving one of those tiny little cars! LOL.

Classic Bauers are a good look to emulate. The gray and silver trend in skates is gaudy.
