Easton in the U.K

Recommended Posts

When did this 'Easton not being able to ship to the U.K' stuff kick in?

I got some Easton Synergy 900 gloves from hockeymonkey about 2 years ago with no problems at all...

Easton gear in general is slightly more expensive here in Canada than CCM or Nike/Bauer. I guess the reason is because their U.S. based. You can't order either Easton or Nike/Bauer on line from the States anymore from the stores on the net. So much for free trade. I personally like Easton gear but I've tended to steer towards Nike/Bauer or CCM/Reebok gear more lately not only because of the lower prices but the availability is much better here. I just hate the fact I have to pay a premium on Nike/Bauer equipment because I live North of the 49th parallel, especially now that our dollar is almost on par with the U.S. green back.

If you've not got a shop nearby there are lots of UK based stores online:

Can-Am

Hoppys Hockey Locker

I know some of the above site don't have Easton on their websites but a lot of them will be willing to order it for you if you give them a ring and tell them exactly what it is that you want.

Those are the two I use as my LHS. I live 10 minutes from Can-am, but play mostly from Dundee Rink, where Hoppys shop is, so use them more. Both are really good for ordering gear in, have had orders from both.

You'll find Hoppys slightly cheaper though, I managed to save £50 from them compared to Can-am on my Vapor 40 skates.

And another thing, if you do enquire about an order, phone them. I dont think either of them check their emails at all!

What I meant was Nike/Bauer gear is more expensive because of the higher taxes here and they have not adjusted for the higher Canadian dollar. It should be at least 20 percent cheaper or more closer to the American prices. So the price is being kept artificially high which in turn increases the taxes you pay on it. A win/win scenario for the retailers and our governments. Also in rebutal, I have made my last two purchases of equipment at my LHS, my Vapor XXII skates and my sons Graf 500 shin pads. I would rather support it than the larger conglomerate stores who give you little in the way of extra service other than cleaning out your wallet.

I can get my hands on various Easton Sticks for good prices for you guys in the UK. PM me for prices and availability. Pretty much most of their OPS range including Stealth, SE, ST, Synergy 350, 300 etc... Just an example, Stealth for £130. They're all new sticks.

The manufacturers seem to have clamped down over the last 12-18 months.

I have ordered online from rexhockey and hockeyoffice and both seem OK. I now have a friend in the US so that will help in future.

Living in the UK the main problem is not so much the pricing (which is crazy but not the fault of the LHS) but the fact that very few shops have a good range of products actually in stock to browse and try on. Makes it difficult to decide what you want from a brochure. MSH helps get reviews etc but you really want to try things on. We could do with one big LHS somewhere.

Rexhockey.com are super. I´ve ordered from them many times and allways super service and fast shipping. They even send me an extra t-shirt last time i ordred. Ordred some AK-27 shaft + some blades freday and they just called to say they didn´t have all the blades in stock but i could have some others. And the order will be shiped today.

Hockeyoffice is another story. They send the wrong inline wheels last week. I mailed them lastnight so i hope they anser. And they allso forgot about some extra blades i wanted with the order.

I 2nd the rexhockey comments, good service.

Hockeyzentrale/office has a weird policy regarding products, unless you specifically tell them not to, they well send you the product that (according to them) resembles the one you've ordered if they don't have it in stock...

I've tried to order replacement blades from them, and recievce a completely different brand and curve from the ones I've ordered....

unbelieveable.

Only they're asking £160 for a Synergy ST??? I can get that for less then half the price! And the Z-Bubble I can get for one third of their price. They might be good, but god are they expensive!
