CCM Vector helmet

Recommended Posts

Any one else having a hard time finding Vectors. I want White Medium. Every place I see has Black only (usually L's).

I know of 3 places that are "waiting for a shipment", and I was quite surprised that National Sports isn't even carrying them.

Check out icewarehouse.com

They have a white medium helmet available. Large is harder to come by on that site actually.

Yeah...I saw that. Shipping and exchange (even at the decent rate it's at) will probably make it more expensive than waiting and buying local. They guy keeps telling me they are due in "any day now"

tried it on yesterday. to narrow for my wide head. Ill stick with my 6k untill i can convince my parents that buying an intake is a good idea.

really? It's wide enough for me to fit into a medium helmet, previous to the vector I always needed a large. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to get it or not. The easton is coming out and so is a new bauer.

I'm not holding my breath on the Easton helmet. Just for interest sake has anyone out there actually bought the new Cascade helmet? I'd be interested to see what the opinions on it is. I recently saw one at a LHS and thought it was a bit on the ugly side. It almost looked like an old Itech bottom of the line helmet. The padding in it seemed fairly decent. Tried one on and it really is a comfortable helmet. Much softer inside than my Nike/Bauer 8500. I don't know how it holds to the head because I didn't manage to get it adjusted tightly. If some of you guys run into one I'd appreciate some opinions.

How do you like the 6k? Is it a good lid or just ok.

CCM helmets have never really fit me right (I currently wear a Bauer 5000 Med). The fit of the Vector seems very very similar to my Bauer (at least to me). The adjustment thing is SOOO easy to adjust.

But...the Vector was so easy to get right. The tabs covering the slider are a little harder to get open than Bauer's but now I'm just being picky *L*

I wear Medium Bauer 5000 and a Med Vector fit me perfect.

That's good to know. I tried on a 5500 in my LHS the other day and loved the fit. They said they'd recieve more buckets that week, but I never returned.

the 6k is a great lid. i really like it. i would sugest it over the 8k cause the only differance is the dial which does absolutely nothing, and the composite sub shell which i dont think makes a big differance anyways. Plus its cheaper. I havent had a problem with mine i think it fits well and before i tried the intake on i thought it was the best fitting helmet for me. My shop got the intake shortly after i had bought the 6k.

CCM/JOFA 480 looks good on it. A friend of mine just put it on. Try to get a pic of it tonight.

Any chance you might still have those pics around? :D

sorry to bring this back, tried getting as much as i could out of the thread by reading it, but, i'm coming off a size SMALL mission intake, i understand all helmets fit differently, but my team is giving us vector helmets, i need to know what size i need by tonight and i can't go to a store today, does anyone know if a SMALL would also fit me? i'm speaking only in terms of fitting to my front to back of the head, and it not being all wobbly

My 2 cents on this helmet..

I picked one up on the bay for around $70 new. I was lucky to find a local vendor who had one in my size (medium) and the color I was looking for (gold)

Overall, I have to say I like the helmet a lot. Even my wife thinks it looks good on me. If she approves, well... you get the idea. If the helmet can make me look cool, it must be a good one... B)

I have been a goalie all my life but I ref a lot and I have started skating out more.I bought this because I am going to be skating out in a summer league soon. The helmet seems to be a pretty good one. I really like the interior foam padding. It holds the lid tightly/comfortably to my melon.

Not much else to say since I have not used it. I used an old cooper helmet when I ref'd so this is definitely an upgrade from that. Questions?

Size measurements should help.

Intake Small:6 5/8” – 7 1/8” (20.8 - 22.4 in)

Vector Small:6 3/8" - 7" (20.0 - 22.0 in)

You should fit a small Vector unless you wear the intake on the largest size.

thanks a lot man, exactly what i was looking for. I actually wear my size small intake on the smallest size, and I'm 18 years old, kind of pathetic haha.

Purchased this helmet and ended up bringing it back 2-days later.

CCMVector1.jpg

I fitted the helmet to fit snug. Not too tight, but just snug. After sliding it on about 3-4 time, the padding starting to roll up (right at the red circle). It was pealing back soooooo easy. Like they used crappy adhesive or something.

So, I brought it back and went back to my old 'staple'...... NBH 5500.

For me, the 5500 is king.

I'm just debating whether I should by a few more before the break of Bauer from NB???
