Stick Help

Recommended Posts

Im having a dilemma over which stick i should get next and as i dont have a LHS here in the UK so I cant go to see which one I like so I am going to order one. Im stuck between a Stealth CNT and a One90 stick. I am currently using an ST which I like but I want to try something a bit different, however i still want something durable. So I want something durable with good performance. I do like to take slappers regularly but I also take a lot of wristers/snappers aswell so I want the stick to be able to perform in both these areas.

Does anyone have any opinions on whether I should get the Stealth CNT or the One90?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

I personally prefer the Stealth CNT. I have had one for about 9 months now and I have no complaints. The One90 is a very solid stick as well. The paint can chip off easily though but that is only cosmetic so most people don't mind.

Last year, I played Pee Wee AAA, and owned a Stealth CNT grip. It was an INT. because I was only 5'3 and weighed 105 lbs. I was using the Stealth CNT after a CCM Vector 10.0(not the catapult). I was not really a fan of my V10.0 and the first time I used the Stealth, it felt noticeably lighter, and more balanced. I was at a sticks&pucks and was just shooting some pucks, but form the first time I used it I could tell how great of a stick it was. 4 other kids also had the Stealth CNT on my team, and none of them were disappointed with it. It broke after about 5 months (broke it on a slapper) and have used a RBK 7K SicKick, and now a SyNergy Elite, and to this day it was my favorite stick. My twin brother had the One90 and really didn't like it. Since we both have always liked Easton sticks, I convinced him to buy a Stealth, as well, and he still has his. (he's had it for 6 months), and he, also, has loved it.

Well, I've used the ST,Stealth CNT,and 0ne90 and I love the stealth CNT. It took me awhile to get used to the one90, my passes were off and saucer passes seemed harder, not to mention I've had my stealth CNT for about 6 months now, and although its takin a tremendous beating, its still held up pretty nicely unlike the 6 SL's that I went through. The stealth was also VERY easy to get used to after using my ST. There was virtually no transition. Overall, I'd go with the Stealth.

my slappers with the one90 are so weird...if i knew anything about baseball i would compare it to that one pitch where the pitcher throws the ball and it elevates a little bit then takes a big dip.... sinker? change up? i don't know.

That could be a good thing. It'll throw the goalies off.

Sounds like more of a personal problem.. I have taken shots with a one90 that was the same specs as my xxx lite (same curve, flex and about 1/2" longer than mine), and I didn't have any issues.

I thought the blades on the CNT were crap? Were those earlier models?

A lot of people who used the 05 model (with the old blade) say that the CNT blade is crap. I use a CNT zcarbon and I don't notice much of a difference between that and my old zcore.

Probably...i've only had 2 skates with it, i was usuing a z-bubble with a sakic blade before...now usuing a P88 one90.

I like the feel of the One90 more, although that may be biased since I own it and I've only used the CNT Stealth once. The Stealth just feels too light, and the tactile texture is great for people who don't like tacky grip coatings, like myself. I like the feel better on the Stealth, but the shooting (IMO), is better on the One90.

Thanks for the input guys im still a little unsure though :( As the One90 is a true 1 piece stick does it have a hollow feeling or will i not notice any difference over the ST apart from the weight?

On a side note, is the Naslund P92 curve an exact clone of the Sakic(which is the perfect curve for me)?

Keep your opinions coming guys as they are very helpful.

Yes, the P92 is an exact Sakic clone. I don't really know about the "hollow" feeling, as the stick feels quite normal to me. IMO my UL+Z-Carbon combo feels a little more... "pingy" than my One90. My UL sends some vibrations up the shaft, resulting in a tennis-elbow-like condition. Luckily that doesn't happen with the One90.

It doesn't feel like a XXXlite, it doesn't really have the "hollow feeling." Well at least is you have a plug or cap on the end. ;)

Through roughly 4 months of play, my One90 blade has been holding up well. It really depends whether you break blades or not. I go through Z-Carbons at about a rate of 1 in 1.5 years, depending on whether someone steps on it or not (how my previous two broke). I'd bet that both sticks have a fairly similar blade durability.

Is the blade length also exactly the same as the Sakic?

I have a oddly similar story to yours, Stealth is hands down the best stick i ever used and i had the opportunity to demo almost every kind...

The old steaths where even better in feel then the CNT to me but they where on the fragile side...

My vote will go to the One90 on this one. Over th past year, I've owned/used many of the top end sticks (CNT Stealth, XXX Lite, One90, Synergy SL, etc.). I prefer the One90's puck feel and balance over the Stealth. Also, as others have stated, the tactile grip on the One90 feels great as oppose to the "clear" feeling on the Stealth. As for shooting, the performance is very similar. Lastly, the One90 is cheaper and save you some cash to spend on other gear. Just my two cents.

As the stick is a true one piece does this mean that the stick is hollow all the way through the stick or does it start to fill out towards the blade? Also does anyone know the weight difference between the two sticks?

I know that the weight difference is significant in grams. The CNT Stealth is 410 grams and the One90 is around 500 right? HOWEVER, the balance on the One90 is excellent. As a result, the weight (in grams) is insignificant. IMO, the One90 feels better in your hands than the CNT Stealth.
