Looking for rubber grip for top of stick

Recommended Posts

About 6 years ago when i played inline a few guys in my team used to have these grips for the butt-end of their stick. It was like a really thin rubber grip that you would roll onto the end of the shaft and it had a spiralling spine on it for grip. Essentially you would then tape over the rubber grip and then you would be left with a ribbed grip for your stick without having to get a long piece of tape, roll it up and wind that on your stick before taping over it.

I've never been able to find these in store or online and after playing ice for several years havent found a way to tape my stick to match how it felt when i borrowed my teammates sticks back when i played inline.

For a start, does anyone know or get what i'm talking about? And if so dos anyone know of an online store that sells these?

Cheers.

I think this is what you are looking for.

I think he means the butt ends for under the tape, rather than a grip that replaces tape.

I know you can get them in sports authority, usually with the laces and street hockey balls and tape.

Is that what you are talking about?

Very similar in theory to the oggie grip you posted. Its really hard to explain in writing haha. its more of a thin rubber sleeve for the end of the stick, with a spiralling spine or rib on it. Its only a thin rubber so that when u tape over it it doesn't increase the thickness of your stick, but it does have ridges coming through under the tape for grip. Thanks for your help anyway guys.

It is not quite the same thing, but I use Wikki sticks under the tape. They are a wax covered string that is just sticky enough to hold to the stick while you tape. $5 gets you enough to do 10 sticks from most any craft store.

I can't take the credit though, my 11 year old thought of it.
