Glove Repalming-Vancouver

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me the best place in Vancouver, BC to get glove replaming done? I need both palms and gussets changed so I can revive my Pro Z-Airs, and use them as spares. My brother used Cyclone Taylors last year, but they did a pretty poor job.

Thanks,

Pretty sure Rocket Rod's at the Delta Planet Ice can repalm.

yep they do it

lower mainland i know of:

planet ice delta - rocket rods

cyclone taylor's

the hockey shop

others you could check:

the sports exchange

larry's sports

docksteader sports

8-rinks proshop

if all else fails you could just do it via fixitbymail.com

Sports Exchange on Burrard, Larry's in North Van do.

But strangely enough, the 8 Rinks proshop doesn't. They don't do skate profiling either.

Rocket Rod is a good fella and does quality work. He doesn't have much of a website though. He's based in Planet Ice, North Delta. Just accross the Alex Fraser Bridge.

http://www.rocketrodshockey.com/

If the 'burbs are too far away, the Sports Exchange on Burrard and West 4th in Vancouver can also do it.

Too bad Cyclone Taylor at Oak and West 49th Ave. didn't do a good job. That's my favourite local pro-shop. Hopefully that was just a bad hair day as I've always been satisfied with their service -- then again I've never had gloves re palmed there.

Good luck.

I buy almost everything from Cyclone's, however, I refuse to get my skates sharpened there, and after the poor job on glove replaming, I am skeptical to take any of my equipment there. In the past, they routinely burned my blades, and they finish their sharpenings off with a sweet stick, which are horrible for your edges.

I think I'm going to take a chance with Rocket Rod, he looks reputable.

He replaced a shin pad kneecap for me. Decent price, was finished when he said it would be done, no complaints here.

I think CTS prices are just way too high!! I used to buy everything from them before but not anymore. I usually shop around before I go to CTS. Where's a better place for sharpening in Vancouver?

Hockey Shop actually sent me with my eagle x90i's back in the day to a shoemaker in Surrey Place mall 2 minuits from their store, they did an ok job with actual eagle palms. However I never used them, with the new palms I donated them to the puck program, but they seemed pretty good still.

Not with my 10% discount ;) They only give it to minor hockey players though.

I know Cyclones on 49th outsources their repalming to a show repair guy in Chinatown, somewhere on main st. They're sharpening is a little inconsistent but if you ask for Toby, you'll get a great sharpening, he knows his stuff.

What if he only answers to Kunta Kinte?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

For the XXV skates, they are listed at 399...the sports exchange at 375...US (Seattle) 229 US...but then I do get the 10% discount too cuz of PICH...I guess if you ask them for discount, they are usually happy to give 5-10%
