Warrior Super Mac Daddy Gloves

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Ive been waiting forever to see these gloves.

Does anybody have them or have tried them on?

I currently have Vapor XXX gloves and would like to know what everyone thinks of the Super Macs.

I got a pair about 6 weeks ago and love 'em. They're much snugger fitting than my last pair of gloves, but turns out that works for me anyway. Very grippy palms. I was thinking about getting a new stick, and most of teh sticks with grip end up too grippy with these gloves.

The fit is medium-tight in the hand but it's tight around the base of the hand then the cuff widens out like a regular glove, not restrictive at all.

The palm is similar to the one90s. Not sure of the durability of them but the gloves do feel pretty bulky. Very well made gloves.

the material the backrolls on the king pins are mad of is really nice, i think its just leather, but if you knew how long its been since if touched real leather with all this synthetic shit. Is the super mac daddy the same material? By the way whast the difference between the two (macdaddy, and super macdaddy that is)?

Am I the only one who thinks the warrior gloves are chunky and uncomfortable?

I tried a pair on a few weeks back up at my LHS, they had them on sale, and if I'm unnecessarily gearwhoring, it's usually gloves, so I tried them on.

They felt horrible. Fingers were short, at least compared to the CCM, Mission and RBK gloves I have, and there wasn't great mobility for my fingers either.

Maybe it was just that pair, but I thought they were just all flash no substance

I'll second you, smoke.

While I haven't tried any of this year's offerings, the Kingpins I tried on last year just didn't seem to break right, and felt clunky on my hands. the backhand, despite its many pieces, felt very stiff. I don't know how they feel after break-in, but it certainly was a turn-off, especially considering the price and other gloves in that range.

I have to say warrior has very high prices for gloves. There cheapest gloves are what 90? and i dont even hear that great things about them, like MIA (their expensive but because they are good, and b/c of customization

I just got a pair of mac daddy gloves. I like the way they fit, just like TBLfan says. I was comming out of NBH XY´s that i find has a more tight cuff then the mac daddy. I like that they have a tight fit in the hand and a wide cuff.

I'll third ya.

Just not a very good glove.

I had pain around the base of my thumb when i tried these on. They seemed pretty nice expect for that. Theyre very coushoned(sp?)

when i tried them on they felt like warrior had tried, but just not quite gotten it right. they had the features and feel of a high end glove, but just didn't feel all that well-made, we'll see once somebody gives em a real shot though, this was just my initial impression just checking them out while my skates were getting sharpened.

is Warrior an "old school" brand? like Black Biscuit?

if you really don't know what warrior is, here,

check it out

I'm sure the next batch of gloves that come out from them will be amazing since they paired up with mia

Who says they're going to be using MIA for that?

It's not cost-effective to make a high-end mass-produced retail glove in Canada. They'll use them for pro, and lacrosse.

Yes, but if they take the Eagle marketing/production approach to Canadian made retail gloves, it's the same path. A high-end glove with limited distribution(already part of their business/marketing plan) and long waiting times for retail delivery. From the glove side of the business, the Canadian made gloves are not about volume in production. It's not the saturation of the glove at retail that Warrior would be concerned with anyway. However many or few they seed at retail is fine with Warrior. The glove with NHL exposure is just a means to an end to gain more and more brand awareness. Before you think that is silly, think about what RBK, NBH, and Easton are already doing to saturate the NHL with their branding in multiple categories.

I think you're giving Eagle too much credit.
