krisrt4tin 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 It's nice to see Detroit listed as the #1 city for something positive these days. Lately all we hear about is how we're #1 for crime, unemployment, foreclosures, etc. We have great fans, true diehard fans, fans that have suffered through record losing seasons. You can't go anywhere in this city without seeing someone sporting the Old English D, a Wings logo, or heck, even Lion's gear. Congratulations Detroit for being #1!! krisrt4tin 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 A town that dosent have a football team is the number 1 city? The Lion's have a beautiful new stadium and for some reason sell out almost every game. They may be very, extremely far from being a good team, but we still love em.
mik3 1 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 Detroit Lions aren't a football team? Not a competitive one.And Detroit embarrassed themselves in the world series. The Ducks and Pistons have been competitive for a decent stretch though.

mack 44 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 How in the hell did Nashville get #16? Even with the Predators around the best thing to watch there was when Fielder was in the minors there.
Lufria 1 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 it IS amazing that the lions sell out consistantly. But it is good to see Detroit getting some positive news for a change.
M-Cohen 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 I would like to think that those stats are also bumped by the people of Windsor who only really have the Spitfires to go watch.
sabre09923 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 boston 6th, this guys a complete moron. If you go purely by win/loss, I dunno. The Pats (although they play in Foxboro) and Sox are consistently good, but the B's and Celtics suck. I'd hope the Beanpot ups Boston's ranking, and BC reaching the finals for hockey does the same, but no one cares about hockey anyways. Although, the BC football and basketball team were in the top 25 and reached the NCAA tournament (for basketball)...And Dallas-Fort Worth at number 3? WTF? JR Boucicaut 3802 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 All that poll is telling me is if NY had a decent college program (notice AA/Ypsi included in Detroit) then NY would be #1. Couple that with the new Stadium and CitiField in two years, no contest!Lions sell out because of corporate seats. Same with the Wings - games were a sellout in the playoffs but those who saw it on TV saw tons of empty seats. The lower bowl at JLA is filled with people who stand up with their cellphones and wave whenever the play's in their end, so that their friends can see them on TV. Then you have the ones boozing it in the Olympia Club and show up halfway through the period - just like the ACC. Two years ago you could walk up and get great seats at Comerica, now that they went to the WS, not so much. Pistons draw well, as more affluent people live in that area anyway. Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 Washington DC are #24, thats way to high for a city with a sucky football team, a sucky baseball team, a basketball team that is sucky if it gets to the playoffs, a hockey team that was so sucky that they may soon be good thanks to a firesale, a good soccer team that get no press and a WNBA team who are so desperate for a celebration that they had an unveiling and raising to the rafters for a banner they got for attendance.Sweet jebus
