so you guys remember that shot in might ducks. i dont know which one but anyways. in my game last week our d man made a slapshot but the puck kind of fluttered in the air and looked like it would go over the net. suddenly it just dropped and went right over the goalies shoulder. i was on the bench and the puck made a very distinctive arc.

I have seen a puck shot off it's edge, waaaaaaaay before those movies even existed. It happens, y'know..

i think youre missing the point of what the guy is saying. obviously people have hit the puck on end, but read his damn post a BIT CLOSER. he was saying the puck fluttered like it did in the movie. no where did it say that mighty ducks, as great of a movie as it is, invented hitting the puck on its end.

I've watched enough discovery channel to know that it for sure didn't go up, down, left, right, back and forth like it did in the movie.. Sorry, you can't make a puck do the contra code in the air. Up and then down.. sure, welcome to 1st grade science. Today's lesson is gravity.

Anytime I slap at a puck up on it's edge, it does tend to drop a foot or two before it reaches the net. However, I always feel like my stick is close to breaking.

Yeah, he really should have gotten into the minutiae of it all and thoroughly explained why shooting a puck on its edge isn't like teeing up a knucklepuck.

the point of his post was to say that he saw it before the mighty ducks, which is awesome and very useful. not anything reguarding what fireonice said about the thread being pointless. he merely agreed to not look like a douche.

i dont want to get into an arguement with you, i'll lose and then i'll probably look like moron, and there is already a plethora of them around here. so i'll apologize and leave this thread alone.

Thank you for seeing how silly it would be to argue over this because before we knew it we'd have "omg my team totally pulled of a flying V!!!" threads.

yup, way to save face bud.

1) I'm not your "bud", so feel free to keep pleasantries like that to a minimum...and 2) "save face"?? on a message board? I am not even going to touch that one.... all I can say is, my condolences. I believe I've already put more than enough energy into this thread than need be... moving on.

Im gona do it.

On Defense at point Ill just stop it, flip it onto the side or whatever and give that knuckle puck a shot.

Just for shits and giggles.

I think everyone would find it pretty amusing.

Ill get back to you. :)

this has got to be THE biggest shitshow of a thread i've seen in a while here. wow. looks like some of us need to work on our basic people skills.

And their shooting...

Any hard shot that isn't flying really flat is going to drop or rise(from the point or further) from it's projected path.

I haven't really tried it in a while, but I'd snap my wrists different on slapshots sometimes and get this nasty Kevin Brown sinker going.
