cages

Add another for a cage. I still wear one even though I don't have too. I use a black cage. I find it's easier to look past then the white ones, but that's just me. Check em out and see what works best for you.

Sorry if this has already been listed, but I just thought I would make sure. The Itech 908Ti is rust-proof, right. I just didn't see it listed, but only listed on the phantom.

Interesting....as that is one issue that I am having with my surgically enhanced half cage from Itech. All of the places where I have cut the bars away from, and the areas where the epoxy has rubbed off are rusting pretty good. But that cage and I have been through so much, I simply can't part with it. B)

Buy some Rustoleum mat finish spray paint it should protect the metal where any of the coating has chipped off and where you've cut.

I'll give that a shot....thanks. I love the cage too much....I probably should protect it before it turns into a pile of rust colored dust.

I forgot, also buy some emery paper (sand paper for metal) and clean off the rusty areas before you spray paint it.

If you are thinking of emory paper on there too, and painting in that case on bare/clean metal....would a metal primer be better than a paint then?

The key is getting the rust off so the paint has a good surface to stick to and no rusting continues under, I don't think you need a primer the spray paint should be good enough.

if youre only playing for peanuts and not multi million dollar contracts and fame, go with a cage.

beer leagues are oftentimes run by guys with sticks being carried at eyebrow level. im a personal fan of the white jofa 480 full cage, nothing could possibly look more D1 college hockey than that.

stay away from the fishbowl!

The Jofa/CCM FM 480 is what I use. Best cage on the market in IMHO. Fits almost any helmet I've ever owned. Using it on my Mission Intake at the moment. Has a great field of vision and is reasonably priced and light. Only other cage I'd consider is the new Itech Titanium, which is dramatically lighter than anything else on the market, but I refuse to shell out $199.99 CDN to get one.

+1 for cage. I actually bought a few visors before, loaded it on the bucket, looked at myself in the mirror and then decided to take it off. I like my face too much to use a visor and risk anything happening to this already crooked grin.

Who makes the largest cage vertical wise? I got a big head and my chin cup hits between my chin and lower lip. I've got a Cascade helmet/Jofa 480 cage currently. It was worse with the cascade cage, but chrome was nice. I measured the cage vertically and it was 8 1/2" with the Jofa and 8 with the Cascade. Jofa cage chin cup is riveted so I can't remove it without cutting or drilling. I wanted to switch it out with the cascade shin cup. Also I tried adjusting the cage stop on the helmet, but no go. +1 on the cage. Too many idiots out the including me.

Saw the 9500 cage and wow it is incredible! Really light and the vision is next to none. The bars are extremely thin. Id take a look at it. It almost feels like your not wearing a cage.

How is the chincup? Is it really soft?

Go with itech, they're long when you mount them right. If you mount them the way every other cage is mounted they are hella long.
