What an amazing game. To see Appalachian St. beat Michigan was truly a sight to see. I love how you call this a "joke". App is not a powerhouse by any means, but Appalachian is the 2 time defending 1-AA champions. They came in with a game plan and executed. Plain and simple Go APP!

This is the worst loss in CFB history.

No ranked team had ever lost to a non-D1 team. Then you factor in it's #5 losing at home.

Hopefully this shuts Michigan up for a while. Notre Dame's getting hosed by Ga Tech...ahhh, I almost like college football now.

The ND game was painful to watch. Run, run, run, punt. Run, run, fumble. Run, run, run, punt.

Being a ND fan, it was nice to see a team come out of the sticks in NC and block two feild goals to stick it to a big time program. Games like that make me think that maybe someday the UB Bulls will beat a team other then Temple.

To be in Boone right now...

I was at the NC State-UCF game this evening and whole stadium cheered when that came up on the scoreboard.

Too bad your boys couldn't beat us.

Go Knights!

Ugh. Just "ugh." Can't win a bowl game. Can't beat OSU. Can't do shit.

And now a loss, IN THE BIG HOUSE, to Appalachian State?!? When I told my girlfriend's father that Michigan lost to Appalachian State, he said "who?" EXACTLY! Out-played and out-coached. Ultimately, that is something I have come to accept, if not expect, from Lloyd Carr's football teams over the past few years. I thought mediocrity sucked; this is a brand new low.

...my phone has been going nuts all afternoon/night. I won't answer it. There's a lot of voicemail that I'm going to have to get through.

ahh what a day to be a Spartan. You guys should have heard East Lansing everytime they flashed the score in Spartan Stadium, and then all the roars when something happened after our game was over. I was riding my bike back to my apartment after the game, stopped to have my brother give me a play-by-play on the phone, and literally had a crowd gathered around me so they could keep updated as well.

go green

Hope so. I read an article in the paper today about how Oregon and App St. run a very similar offense. Then again, Michigan will have had a week off to see what exactly they did wrong and how to fix it. Plus Oregon's run defense looked atrocious last weekend. If anything, at least this game should be competitive, something I wouldn't have said a week ago.

App State and OSU run pretty much the same offense, Michigan had about 10 months to learn how to not get beat up by that type of offense. I don't think they'll be able to change things in one week.

But yeah, if Hart's healthy it should be a good game.

...I doubt the game is going to be too close. Michigan is uber-pissed and has something to prove - they're either going to be absolutely flawless, or they're going to be completely off their game. If they go out and are successful in using last week as motivation, the Ducks are in a heap of trouble; but if Michigan lets this past Saturday eat at them, Oregon is going to embarrass them even worse than Appalachian State (if that's possible).

You're probably right. As a Duck fan I've been dreading next week since the end of last year, and I'm reaching for any potential good news. I'm just glad that it looks like one of the three powerhouses we're playing this year is beatable. I'm about ready to give up against Cal already after watching them this weekend, and USC is USC.

although i'm a true State fan by heart, my girl goes to UoM, and she's in the Marching Band. She called me right after the game and pointed me in the direction of some youtube videos that people took of the game...it's unreal how silent the stadium got.

Speaking of videos, here's Ohio State fans having a good time...
