Bleeding Blue Note

New iPods

160gig for 349 with wi-fi and a touch widescreen? I know what my next purchase is.

actually, the 160 gig Ipod is the "classic", so its just a regular ipod with insane storage.

the ipod "touch" is the one with wi-fi and widescreen and is gonna set you back 299 for the 8 gig version and 399 for the 16 gig version.

Too rich for my blood considering my original nano is still kicking and my PSP can play my movies.

I fuckin' hate Apple. I just picked up a Nano too.

That Touch is priced awfully close to the phone though. Too many product lines.

But iPod nano is for girls! j/k.

Yeah, I wouldn't shell out 400 beans for 16 GB worth of storage and a touch screen, but 349 for 160, maybe.

I need way more storage space than 16 gig. Apple is really ripping the consumer off this time. For the record, I have an iMac and an iPod w/ video, so I'm not an Apple hater. They should have made 20gig $300 and a 40gig for $400.

And yes, I'm prepared for Vapor to come and defend his boyfriend, Steve Jobs.

I would have liked the Touch to have better memory, I can't even fit my whole catalogue of songs on there. Especially with the fact that they don't have any student specials on the iPods, I might wait for the refresh in about 8 months or so from now when they have bigger memory.

let's not forget the nice swift kick in the nuts all of us iPhone owners JUST got...

Apple discontinued the 4gb iPhone, and DROPPED the 8gb model $200. I paid $499 for a 2-months-later-obsolete model... $100 more than an 8gb goes for now.

16gb is the largest flash media on the market right now

16gig.....mine.

Ah... that's what I get for ignoring the "flash memory" part.

Wow, only took a couple years for Apple to get on the wifi with the iPod. Looks like I now have a reason to step near the Starbucks now.

That kind of annoys me but pfft, I milked all the "omg wow" out of that. Now at least it'll be cheaper to replace. The 160gb sounds awesome, but that new Nano looks like crap.

Yeah, but the Nano, at least to me, seemed to be all about being a mini iPod. Glad everything's going all metal though.

I didn't realize this until a month ago, but Starbucks charges for WiFi. I figured it was like most other coffee shops -- I buy a drink and you let me piggyback on the Net. Nope.

I forget what the price was, but it was pretty hefty.

They're in cahoots with Apple so I think it'll be free there for use with your iPod. There's a feature where you'll be able to get the last 10 songs or something like that.

Yeah you will be able to see what song is currently playing and what were the last 10 songs played. Too bad for me, the nearest Starbucks is in Fredericton (about 3 hours from here).

Reading the boards this morning I noticed alot of people complaining about the storage space and they will hold out for the 2nd generation when the flash technology is better and gets you about 40 or 80gb. They should have waited a year to release the Touch and they should have also made it a Bluetooth product (although there are pictures of a little B in the corner where the battery is) so maybe it will be a later activated function with a software of some sort.

From what I read this morning, it will only be free to access iTunes. Gonna have to pony up to read MSH....
