mack 44 Report post Posted September 12, 2007 Some of the fey fashion-related threads and my general sexiness can explain a big chunk of female hits, but not that much. At least there are some sugar mamas out there looking at us.

Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2007 Has there ever been some sort of a member poll or market research done for the site? Nothing fancy, but age range, current level of play, how many years you've been skating, equipment buying habits, brand preferences, etc. I'm a marketer by trade, I could help out with something like that. Might be skinteresting.

Since we aren't selling advertising that type of information isn't particularly important.

Rustpot 1 Report post Posted September 13, 2007 They probably track the IPs logged into the account. That said, any time your mom/sister/wife/etc is on the account it's showing up as female. My guess is the $100,000 estimate is when they track it to a company where the IT guy getting paid $2mil at Comcast is the name on the bill.Or something similarly unrepresentative. The IP doesn't track a solitary computer since they're dynamically assigned by ISPs. They take that IP that you're broadcasting with and see whose name it's under. Lord knows 2/3 of the accounts here come through a major ISP and who knows where this demographic stops along the trail of breadcrumbs to assess gender and income.
