Curve Depth

Recommended Posts

Been looking everywhere and still can't find the answer. What's the difference between a deep and slight depth? What does a deep curve allow you to do that a slight curve might not allow you to.

What are the advantages of a deep curve?

What are the advantages of a slight curve?

thanks for posting pictures to make the point. I didn't feel like searching or uploading pics.

It was an older pro's curve. For the moment, I can't recall who it was but he experimented with many large curves after they figured out that curved sticks allow for stronger shots.

Big curves help put more spin on the puck which gives your shots more speed and make it easier to lift the puck. I also find the sweet spot is larger so you can take shots off more of the blade.

Smaller curves have a more predictable release and for me at least really help my accuracy. They also make passing much easier and backhands better and more powerful as there's a flatter surface for the puck.

I started with a Forsberg, eventually got more curve until I liked the Lindros, now I'm going back to a more open heel like a Spezza.

I grabbed it out of the commerce section. One of the members had it listed as Mission P110 or something similarly nondescript.
