Phaneuf clones...or close

Recommended Posts

So I have been using the Phaneuf (RBK) for a while and really like the blade, except that it is just a touch too open for my personal preferences. I have been having trouble finding an agressive heel curve similar to it that isn't wide open. Does anyone have any suggestions for a curve for me? Also....is the Lecavalier the CCM equivalent? Thanks!!

I think the Lecavalier is less open, but also has less curve depth. Easton Lidstrom, Warrior Jovanowski are pretty close to Phaneuf/Pronger clones, but aren't going to be less open.

You might want to try a CCM Doan, It's a nice heel curve, probably not as open, but at least as deep of a curve.

Being that CCM and RBK now have the same curve patterns, I was wondering if the Doan was the clone of the Phaneuf. Can't tell from any pictures that I can find.

Since when are they the same? A Bergeron is definately not a Thornton, that's for sure. Nice big curve but rounded toe and much shorter blade.

Agreed - very similar, just the square toe on the Lecavalier...odd, I always thought a rounded toe was the preference of danglers, as it made toe-dragging easier...

kubina pro sounds exactly what your looking for. I've tried it and it isn't as open as lidstrom or lecavalier.

Kubina Pro SicKick

You're right....that does look pretty damn good. I just need to see if I can find it in blade only...standard taper. :( I need to find that for my XN10 Redlite's as I love that combination for inline. The only issue is that the RBK 5K that I have been using is a little too brittle for me and has been splintering at the toe.
