Where to buy Black Holders?

Recommended Posts

Totalhockey.net has black lightspeed 2's, but they are dyed. I don't think there are "real" black ls2's.. Hockeyoutlet has black custom+ in some sizes.

i would buy custom+ instead, because the cobras and the custom+ has the same hole pattern, which make change of holders easier due to the factory installed rms nuts.

i found a cheaper way to get them is to order like $30 old bauer skates from HockeyWorld which already have the black custom+....just look for a skate with the same size.

Yeah those are basically it. Ideally I'd like to get something closer to these. (I apologize for not remembering who posted these original pics).

These Supra G35's are simply gorgeous.

I love ALLL black skates, its a shame that this flashy stuff keeps coming out. Blake holders on a black boot = hawt.

owwww, my bandwidth! :(

just to get back on track, you should be able to order black E-Pros from any authorized CCM retailer. I don't think NBH has released a black LS2, but as far as I can remember, they still did black custom+

What ever happened to the days when players used the product that best suited them?!

Back when we didn't HAVE to have Paul Mitchell haircuts and Gucci shower shoes.

Gone are the days when Hockey was a sport instead of a fashion show or status symbol.

WTF??? Play hockey for Christ sake!!!

Sorry I don't know about you but when I spend $500+ on a pair of hockey skates I like to get what I like. Thanks for your 2 cents.

You think I haven't spent any money on equipment?

Well, I have. But I don't care if I look like Johnny Cash when I wear it.

Do you want a guarantee that you'll get EXACTLY what you want all the time?

Start your own company, make your own equipment.

Till then, quit focusing your efforts on redundant appearances and use what works regardless.

Would you rather have my 20 cents...

20 bucks...

They're skates dude!

Quit lookin' at them and wear them!

You're welcome by the way....

:D

P.S. If you're spending $500 for holders ( which is what this thread is about ) you're getting screwed!

I ordered some black custom+ from discounthockey.com back in march, but I just looked and they don't have them available anymore, at least online they don't, perhaps you could call them.

I never said you don't spend money on equipment but apparently you thought I did, learn to read buddy. If you apparently don't care what you look like when you play why don't you come on over to my place and I'll gladly spraypaint all your equipment hot pink. :D Learn to read a little better, even though you quoted my post you still managed to misinterpret my post. I never said anything about spending $500 on HOLDERS, my quote is "Sorry I don't know about you but when I spend $500+ on a pair of hockey skates I like to get what I like." keyword SKATES! Thanks for your second attempt but no dice.

Oh boy, you're a waste of time. ;)

EDIT: By the way thanks to those of you who gave the good suggestions. I'll have to check those places out.

Does anyone have any idea why they just stopped making black holders? Did it have something to do with quality/durability, or was it just the looks? Because if it's nothing performance/quality-related, I don't think there's a skate on the market that wouldn't look better with black holders on it. Even if they didn't make them standard on all the skates, you'd think they could just make them to sell, or for customs, or for special order. I mean why not? Obviously it's possible to make them, and someone will buy them, so why not make them available?... And they have to still be making them in some quantity at the very least, however small - don't tell me that Jaromir Jagr is skating around on some 10 year old holders. I know he's got the 10 year old gloves/pants/etc. but wouldn't holders not be any good after all that time in storage, and wouldn't he have run out by now?

It's not all about fashion, but IF you have the opportunity, why NOT get the color you want? My buddy used to rock the blue tuuks back on his Micron 10-90s! That was back in the HS days, when flash counted for something!!! ....now I use what works best, but if given the choice? Heck, I'll choose what looks best!

....as for WHY the color change? I think it's like home theater. Black for a few years, then silver, then black, then silver. White Tuuks, black Tuuks. White Tuuks, black tuuks.

I prefer white personally. :P
