Just received my new One90 gloves

Recommended Posts

I am very disappointed that these are not keepers. As soon as I put my hand in and flexed my fist, I was wondering what the heck was cutting into the first finger on each hand. There seems to be an inside seam that digs into the first finger on each hand, and when I make a fist it feels like a knife is cutting my finger (yes, it is that painful). I don't know if it's the stitching they use or the seam itself but there's no way I can play with these on. I'm coming from VaporXX gloves which feel 1000 times more comfortable.

I guess the search for a new glove continues.....

Sometimes it's in one hand, sometimes both, sometimes neither(always the index finger). I took a lighter to a seam in my supreme 70s which solved my seam issue in the left glove. I never had an issue with my one90s.

What blows is that I have no idea what to get. I've had great success with CCM gear, so i'm looking at the Vector 10 glove but can't find any feedback on it. Also looking at some Pro return Pro Tacks (found Team Canada colors) in nylon but you can't return them if you don't like them.

Ugh.

The Vectors are tighter this year but they have ultrashort fingers. I normally get 14" gloves because I like the tightness but I HAVE to get a 15" if I was to get the new Vectors... I can even wear a 14" TPS glove!

The Tacks are loose and bulky like a 4-roll.

Tighter gloves will be the Vapor XV and XX, vectors, RBKs, Wickeds and the X-72 might even work. Slightly looser are TPS and Easton.

I love my One90 gloves. Only issue is a loose thread in the end of the right hand middle finger. It stretches across & sometimes gets under the tip of my finger. It's annoying more than anything but I'd love to find a way to cut that mother.

If you are looking for a tighter fit, without feeling any form of seams inside of the glove...I feel that the XX's would be an excellent choice for you. With the stretch palm and fingers there are very few seams in the grip area of the glove to begin with, none of which I have ever noticed either while trying them on or playing. Tighter palm and fingers, but with a nicely flared (and adjustable) cuff for excellent mobility. And you can currently find them around at some pretty good prices. I'd at least try them on (if you have the ability to) and give them some consideration.

TPS R8 Lites

I agree. I had a hard time searching for gloves I wanted. Went to the LHS tried on all these pairs from Bauer to Warrior and the TPS were the best feeling ones out there that didn't cost over $150

I would agree with the R8 Lites, but only if he buys them from me. ;)

Just kidding, but they are certainly a looser fit than the Supremes.

I've got a pair of Vector Pro's, LOVE THEM. They are the tightest fitting glove I can find outside of the One90 / Supreme 70, but much more comfortable and they seem to be bigger with more protection.

Just wore a big hole through the goatskin palms, going to pick up a pair of Vector 6.0's while I get the Pro's re-palmed.

I've got the Vapor XX's, Easton S-7's and the Reebok 8K's. I like the fit on all of them even though they differ. Have to say though the fit of the Vapor XX is one of the best I've found to date.

I recommend the Vapor XX gloves. Maybe it is because I came from crappy old Mission Matrix gloves, but they feel so freaking comfortable and flexibility is amazing.

The only way I can think to describe them is...imagine how soft on your hands and flexible some pairs of waterproof winter/snow gloves are. They are like that only with extra padding and a better palm.

I have tried on Easton, Rbk, Mission, Bauer, and CCM.

Out of those I have tried on the Vapor XXX had the best mobility.

I have not tried on the Vapor XX.

Vapors are my second favorite fitting glove. Tight across the top/middle of the palm, but a bit short on the fingers and cuffs are WAY too wide for my tastes. Vectors don't seem quite as tight across the top/middle of the palm but seem to fit more evenly across the entire palm and fingers.

My roommate has a pair of Vapor X's that are at least six months olds that have held up much better than my Vectors, FYI.
