MJAHL Line Brawl

Alright a little behind everything..

This was a pre-meditated event, alot of people knew this would happen, due to an event that happened the last meeting with these teams. Number 6 on blue who ran to the bench apparently hit a guy (cleanly) and gave a guy a concussion. Number 7 for white (Kirk Forrest) who is a known tough guy in the Q previously stands at about 6'4'' 240, and is all muscle. If you stand next to him you'll know what i mean. I was at the game, and in the video i was wearing a red jacket standing in the far corner. The goalie for blue who fought is a Q draft pick and stays with me when he's in Halifax and at only 17 took on a 20 year old keeper who weighs in at about 6'4'' 250 and has spent 4 years at that level.

Anyways, if you say it is bush league for having a phyiscal monster come after you and running away. Number 6 on blue is not a fighter, and number 7 white is. He gets one shift a game, and thats all he does. There is a difference between tough and crazy, and 7 white is just crazy. He can permantly hurt you. Therefore the move by 6 blue, was nowhere bush league. If you don't want to fight, is there a rule saying you must?

Theres alot of fighting that goes on in the league, but never that bad, that was just insane. Alot of bad blood happens in the league because you play the same teams so often. It's filled with Q guys that are too old to play, but it's also filled with alot of young guys that play for a year or two then usually head for the Q.

Probably some tough guy who played in the Q, liked to fight, never made it any further, came back and played Jr A and just couldn't handle his temper. Never like to see stuff like this happen in hockey, espectially so close to home and when you know people who actually play in the league.

I just typed out an entire paragraph defending the kid who ran and deleted it. To sum it up in a few sentences, this wasn't a fight. Fights are where 2 players drop their gloves and say a few words beforehand. This was a lynching. If I knew an entire team was out to get me, I would get off the ice too.

Anyone know what preceded this?

As i mentioned in my post above, that 6 Blue apparently hit a guy pretty hard, and the Wolverines took exception to it. This happened the other week in the meeting between the 2 teams.

I have a friend on Miramichi. I'm glad he wasn't in this game!

20 games for the two goons is serious. The GM got hit pretty hard, too.

So the GM can't play for 20 games either? Should have been way more for the guy who launched himself onto the bench and the goon who stalked/chased down the guy in blue.

That said, I admire the restraint shown by the white team. When I was that age, the guy in white never would have left the bench alive.

Someone on the Blue team should have stood up for the guy then if he's not a fighter. If you have a goon like that coming after a non-fighter, then I think it's fine to have a third and even fourth man come in. I guess it's easy to say, but he should have stood his ground and waited for teammates to come help. Not sure who had last change, but the Blue coach should have been watching for that situation and played his players accordingly.

That guy who comes flying into the bench is straight up crazy...what the hell are you thinking as you do something like that? Honestly he is lucky to be alive, you could get stepped on, beaten with a stick, who knows what.

lol that player on the blue team that jumped into his own bench because he was scared of the goon on the other team chasing him was halarious!!

Judging by how insane some of those players are, that was the smartest thing to do.

Oh wait, he must be a pussy because he didn't want to get in a fight he didn't start.
