moving from iginla to...?

Recommended Posts

I've been using an iginla pattern for about a year or so now and while I like the curve the synergy 2 blades that I'm using just don't seem to last anymore. I'd like to switch to a low tapered blade that is more reliable and similar in lie and curve. Any suggestions?

There are a bunch of topics around this ("what is a similar curve to....") type things.

I think the similar recommendations were something along Lindros (Bauer), Recchi (CCM), Messier (TPS), and.... can't remember what in MIssion. A few are spot on clones, others are just similar in character.

See if you can't turn something up on search.

Good luck!

Ive used an Iginla curve and I found it quite similar to Sakic (Easton), Naslund /Jokinen (Bauer), Nash (TPS)

They are similar but all the curves you mentioned have a slightly open face whereas the Iginla is more neutral. I'm picky about face angle :)

I'm going through the exact same thing right now with Iginla, Easton Synergy II blades. They crack at the heel within a week every time. Not worth $55. I just ordered several RBK 7K blades in the Datsyuk pattern. I've never tried RBK before, but a guy on my bench last week said he liked his and that it was very stiff and durable. I'll let you know how I like them.

p.s. totalhockey.net has some good deals on blades if you're willing to buy a bunch. Some models are buy 5 get 1 free right now.

Im the same deal as you atleast for me when i switched from iginla a different curve i tried those and it way different and the angle is definately different i ended up going with the pm9. Iggy synergy 2 blades were bought up within 2 days of them arriving at my lhs

hossa = leopold2

With NBH there's nothing that close but it's between the P88 and the PM9. The Recchi is virtually the same curve but with a more neutral(I'm a believer that the iginla is a closed face blade) and a square toe.

Neither is really spot on. Robitaille is about the same blade length but the curve is bigger. Weight is about the same curve but it opens up at the end. I've really never seen an exact clone of the iginla(not like the federov, modano, forsburg where they are pretty much iddentical). If I had to pick one, I'd say robitaille.

robitaille 5 lie

iginla 5.5

Other than that they're pretty close...Robitaille a tad longer blade also

I have used Recchi, Datsyuk and Iginla. All 3 seem pretty neutral to me.

Recchi and Datsyuk are very close in length, lie and rocker... Datsyuk has a bit more curve and a square toe. The Datsyuk is a 5K blade and the thing is an absolute tank.

Out of the 3, I find the Iginla the hardest to use. The small difference in lie (5.5 vs 6.0) makes a big difference to me and the Iginla is quite a bit shorter than the other 2. Iginla also has less curve.
