Kronik vs Adrenaline

Recommended Posts

Trust me, this is not a blind "Oh my god!11! which is better!!1!1" type question.

And, I'm not a victim of the Warrior hype machine by any means, but, I was looking for some opinions.

Keep in mind I don't NEED a new stick, but, I am somewhat of a gear(stick mostly) whore.

But, here's the set up:

I was in my LHS looking for a new blade, and I saw a couple pro-stock sticks that I was interested in.

One was a prostock Kronic, the other a TPS Adrenaline prostock.

Now, I already have(well HAD) the prostock TPS, and I really liked it. Good pattern for me, flex was right and I didn't have to cut it. So, I know what that's all about, and wouldn't mind picking up another.

But, there's a part of me that enjoys the "unknown" factor, and is curious about the Warrior stick.

The length of the Warrior also seems to b just about right, the flex marked on the stick also seems about right, but who knows w/Warrior. The pattern as well is definately something up my alley (Druryish).

As expected, the TPS would be a little cheaper, but the Warrior is still a good deal.

So, would you go with something you are comfortable with, and know you like, or would you go with something new that seems "interesting"?

I bought a Kronik about 6 months ago (non-prostock) and was not impressed with the stick at all. I didn't like the feel on the blade for the puck, felt very numb. Aside from that...pop on shots felt good, but I will always prefer the puck feel of the TPS sticks.

If something works, don't change it. Stick with the TPS. I can almost promise you that you'll be mailing the Kronik back to Warrior for a new one within two weeks. And since it's prostock, you don't even get the chance to do that. Worst durability. Ever. Prostock included.

I prefer TPS sticks as I find them to be a better shooting stick over all others I have tried.

I have not tried a Kronik, but have used Dolomite, 1100, and Novius. Inno shafts are great. Blades are great..... but I still prefer the TPS.

Now, just looking at your question at face value I would still recommend the TPS for one practical reason (beyond it being cheaper): if your TPS blade breaks, you can easily replace it. Presuming the Kronik is put together in the same fashion as the Dolomite, if the Kronik blade breaks, good luck as they use epoxy that chemically fuses the two together. Seriously, the amount of time you put into trying to get that blade out just ain't worth it (and in some cases you likely ruin the shaft anyway).

I wasn't a fan of the adrenaline. I'd take the kronik over the adrenaline, but I'd take a xn10 over a kronik.

With exception to the weight, it's the same dang stick, isn't it? The extra 25 grams is the vibration dampening foam they put inside the stick, but am almost positive that the construction was supposed to be the same.... am I mistaken?

you can return broken pro stocks? I thought they had no warranties

Whatever it was I didn't like it. It felt off, that's the best way i could describe it.

i'd give the kronik a try. here is why: for awhile i was using an old z-bubble and focus flex blade (i remember when i thought that combo was super lightweight). anyways, i splurged and bought a xxx lite. my shot got so much better. so often you don't have any more time than to just do a tiny flick of the wrist and that is where a lighter stick comes in handy. i say this because the kronik is a lot lighter than the adrenaline (similar to difference between the xxx lite and z bubble/focus flex). i love when you try out a new stick and it really surprises you. on the other hand, i hate when you spend a lot of money only to find out you hate the stick.

edit: with that said, i have never tried a kronik.

Now that I think of it I think you should go with the adrenaline. You said you've used them before right? The Kronik's blade isn't nearly as stiff as a standard TPS blade. Being that they are pro stock... who knows how close to retail they are.

Um.... actually, no, it's not.... The Adrenaline is 425 grams, the Kronik is 420....

i don't know about what they say on the shaft but my adrenaline is significantly heavier than my dolo and the dolo is heavier than the kronik.

I'm going to guess that it's in your head, dude. Perhaps one is more balanced than the other giving you that impression, but it's got to be pretty close to the factory claims, or you'd have heard about it by now.

are the adrenalines real blade heavy? i haven't used mine in a long time. blade heavy sticks can give the illusion of a heavier stick because of where the center of mass is located. i may weigh mine at work within the next couple of days and compare it to my xxx lite. my xxx lite feels like 50g lighter.

I've got both the Adrenaline and Dolo as my regular game sticks and have not noticed the adrenaline being particularly blade heavy (although, as an aside, the new TPS R6 is *way* blade heavy!).

The dolo weighs in at 445 grams and does feel heavier than the adrenaline. However, I don't think I'd notice the difference (since we are just talking 25 grams here - so, less than an ounce) if it weren't for the fact that I knew one was heavier than the other.

Steve's got it. The pro stock TPS was a lot different than the retail version. It was one of Tom Fitzgerald's. I've had one of his OPS before, I also have it in shaft version. I figured since he retired, I'd never find another one.

The Adrenaline OPS I had is easily the lightest stick I've ever used. It's a lot different than the retail, in that it's noticably thinner than any stick I've ever used. The thin-ness(if that's a word) makes the stick extremely light-weight. It's TPS regular flex, which is my favorite flex regardless of brand.

The only complaint I had about the previous Fitzy I had was it didn't last me all that long. I snapped the shaft right in half on a snapper. Could have been a fluke though.

Also, the blade is just OK for me. I like the lie and the curve, but the blade profile is really narrow/small. I also prefer a more square toe.

Anyway, my desicion was made for me. Someone bought the Kronic before I could get back. I bought the TPS, and I'm happy with my desicion. I really liked the previous one I had and the shaft version (it's not a cut OPS) is one of my fav's as well.

adrenaline hands down. have had three of them, easch lasted a year plus, good shooting and backhands. kroniks suk for backhands.

They only "suk" if you don't know how to use your backhand properly.

not only that but there durability isn't the greatest. my friend has gone through 3 in 2.5 months. he's lucky he had warranty.
