Keep those chin straps on tight. I was guilty of wearing mine very loose and I almost paid for it tonight. I had my feet come out stright up in front of me and I landed on my tailbone. Had my strap been any looser or had it shifted my brains would probably be on the ice atm, but it only hurts to move so Im good :P

There are a BUNCH, probably at least 4 maybe 6 guys, that frequently play pickup with their chinstraps undone. I think one of the kids actually didnt even have a strap on his helmet. I cannot believe that they rock their lids this way...just stupid. I actually tightend my strap up some after watching the Philly guy spill his brains

I wear mine off for pickup, but I have the cage chin cup keeping things tight.

My helmet pretty much stays put with or without the chin strap. Would that be YET another benefit of VN? :P

Our refs won't allow a player on the ice until their chinstrap is fastened, and if they don't have one at all, they aren't allowed to play, until they find another helmet that does.

yeah I thought mine did too. I never factored in gravity, sweat and a half shield helping it slide off :lol:

Keep those chin straps buckled kids. The ref got slewfooted the other night in the Flames/RedWings game behind the net. Landed on his butt and then his head snapped back to smash the ice. The lid saved his life.

this guy i play with rocks this hold cooper bucket (100) i think, and he never ever plays with a chinstrap. doesn't even have the loops for them!to top it all off, he's pretty unstable on his skates and loves to go in the corners! disaster waiting to happen
