When you take a shot with it right now, can you feel it load at all? Are you leaning into the shots properly?

Look into your technique, then maybe see if you can drop to a 77 flex.

Also, I'm guessing your stick was cut down from the original length?

Like TheBert said, its all about technique. I use a 75 flex intermediate shaft now even though I'm 6' and 210lbs. My shots are similar in terms of zip compared to some of the guys who use a 100 flex (thats what everyone tell me although I think I dont get as much as they do).

It's very much dependent on shooting style. I'm a pure snap shooter and at 5'9 180 anything below 85 flex I find the blade lagging way too far behind my hands. I find whippier sticks are better for "sweep" style shooters.

just took some shots with a prostock sickick. its a stiff flex and i normally use 85 and below. slappers and snap shots had really good pop and them, but i couldnt get much on wristers as i couldnt get it to load up as well as im used to.

i just bought a vapor 40 intermediate. my shots suck ass with it. i shoot much better with my 77 flex xxx lite. i only weigh 140 lbs so i thought the intermediate might be better for me. turns out that isnt the case.

i dont feel it flexing when i shoot or anything

Moving to a lower flex will surely help you generate more power, especially if you're only 5' 8" and cut your sticks down several inches.

Well it's got to flex a bit when you're shooting, otherwise you might as well play hockey with a baseball bat. Like everyone's suggested, try leaning down into your stick more. Otherwise, you can look into a whippier stick.

also make sure your using your body weight to your advantage. As stated above make sure you lean into your shot. too many people shoot just with their arms

Learn to use your legs and you don't have to "lean into" any shot. Weight transfer is the key to any shot; wrist, snap or slap.

They actually make baseball bats with flex now.

wouldn't that cause you to lose power with a baseball bat?

They dont "flex" in the same way that you would think. Aluminum bats are softer than wood. They "flex" when the ball makes contact at the bat. The entire bat doesn't flex, just the spot where the ball hits. Also the reason why bats with a larger circumference hit harder.

Rather than get into a very long amateur discussion on the physics of hitting a baseball let's just say that more mass would be the main reason a larger bat hits farther.

check out the easton stealth bat. Asked a friend of mine and said the part right above the handle and below where the ball is hit is where the bat flexes. The way he explained it seemed almost exactly like a hockey stick
