Jiri Tlusty is vaguely apologetic

TORONTO - Teenage forward Jiri Tlusty of the Toronto Maple Leafs issued a statement Tuesday night regretting that pictures taken of him found their way on the Internet.

The pictures were apparently taken while the Czech native was still playing for the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds last season.

"I used poor judgment in this instance last season and I have learned a valuable lesson," Tlusty said in a statement released by the Leafs following Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal. "It will not happen again and I have no further comment."

Leafs general manager John Ferguson also issued a statement.

"Photographs were posted recently on the Internet without Jiri's knowledge or consent," said Ferguson. "He made a naive mistake as a teenager. It's a lesson in how something private can easily become very public in the Internet age. Hopefully it's a lesson that other people will learn from as well."

... But what were the pictures? I haven't heard anything about this - was he dressed as Hitler, snorting cocaine, and clubbing a baby seal?

There is some bar type pics where he has his tounge sticking out touching another guy's face or something. Was on the front page of the Toronto Sun today...pretty weird.

And apparently he took pics of his wang with his camera phone and they surfaced somewhere, but I haven't seen those (thankfully)

Apparently they can still be seen, no idea where. From what I`ve read, they were taken down from the canadian website that first posted them because of a letter from Jiri`s lawyer but they can still be seen probably on some forums here and there.

There's the Bar one, where he's drunk with his tongue out. Then one of him in a suit, then 2 in, what I assume is his room, taken with a Camera phone. Jiri should've played dumb and said it was a culturall difference. People do it all the time in the CZE republic.

The "he said, she said" of how these got out is that he was sending the pics to some girl/guy on MySpace/Facebook/MSH that he was trying to hookup with. And then the girl/guy released them to the world.

I'm sure now he can do that, but these pictures were taken last year when he was in junior. I assume that "I play for the Toronto Maple Leafs and have a million dollars in the bank" has a lot more sway with the ladies than "I play for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, and have forty dollars in the bank." I guess the guy had to get creative.
