Great sale on Christian sticks...

Recommended Posts

I checked out that link before and thought hey, thats a pretty good deal and a great way to get people to check out the Christian composites... After what Monty posted though I had to look again and sure enough you need to buy two sticks. Thats FINE, its still nice but whats not cool is the way they advertise the deal on their hockey home page.

It says "buy a stick and get a free pair (of gloves)" which is pretty straight forward. Either the web sales people are not on the same page as the promotions people or thats some messed up deceptive advertising right there, son. Christian has a good track record of being good to their customers, someone should fix this mess.

You have to add the stick to your cart and then add the gloves you want (size and color). Once you add the coupon the gloves show up as $0.00 in the basket.

Sweet! Tried it out and it worked. Thanks for the heads up.

I hope they give better instructions on their site so people can figure this out easier.

Worked fine for me. I picked a stick, entered the code then picked the gloves and it showed full price on the stick and free gloves.

Does anyone have any experience with the 300 shaft? I've been looking to pick up a tapered shaft and that is a pretty nice deal. Or would I be better off going with the Torch? Anyone who has used either of these some feedback would be appreciated.

Those gloves were going for like $12 on ebay last year...

What's your point? I've found many other brands on E-bay that were priced way under market value. E-bay should not be used as a value indicator. If it is, Rolex and Movado should consider re-setting their MSRP's.

With regard to the Torch and 300, I'll chime in for clarification...

The 2008 Torch--Same mould as last year with the following enhancements; 1. New Graphics. 2. More graphite, less fiberglass = lighter, more balanced stick and higher performance. 3. Two VDS (anti-vibration) zones added to the shaft that eliminates the twing and vibration of hard passes or shots.

The 300-Series (formerly the Infinity)--Two mould shapes, box and concave. Same structural make-up as the 2008 Torch. There are three different grip options; Glossy, Glossy-Grip, and Powder Finish (just like the Harrow Lacrosse shafts). There are 10 different color schemes. Not all colors/shapes/grips are available in every combination, but there is a tool that will be released shortly that will walk you through the process and propose alternatives to your selections if they are not available. All 300-series shafts are TAPERED and require a tapered blade.

Is the powder finish the same thing that came on the Medalist?

Yes, the same thing as the Medalist and the old Harrow V-2 and the first-edition Christian Torch.

I ordered up a 300 with the Christian Torch graphics just now. We'll see how I like the "glossy grip finish"...

My bro was interested in the University of MN 300 shaft. Does it have UofM graphics or anything or is it called that because of the colors?

I'm no genius or anything but I'll wager that the website has either a "contact us" page or a customer service phone number for just such a question.

Shawn, thank you for the business.

The U of M design does not have Gopher graphics, just colors.

Is there a reason why Christian's high-end stick, the Torch, is weighing in at 495 grams? It sounds like there just going for durability, like the description says, but why haven't they lightened it up a bit?

If the balance is right then a heavier stick can "feel" lighter in your hands. Perfect example, my Synergy SE "feels" lighter than my '05 Stealth grip.

Also, it has been covered before. BUT, Christian sticks are weighed AS IS, with paint, graphics, end plug, the finished product. Some companies are decieving in their weight measurements.

We did lighten the 2008 Torch by almost 20 grams. It is a noticeable difference, but as suggested in this string, it's all about the balance.

Zach is right. Our weight is what we say it is. No smoke and mirrors.
