Pants

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I am going to need some new pants pretty soon, so I was just wondering if I could get some suggestions. I am really looking for pants without the big pad thats in the back that is suppose to give more coverage to your lower back and part of the spine. I have never found it to really protect any different than maybe a pant without it and I hate how my jersey always gets tucked in because of it. So between those lines, I am just looking for some suggestions. Thanks guys!

I wear Tacklas myself but I've always liked the vapor pants. The 10s and the 6s are super cheap right now too.

I just bought a pair of Tackla TG4000 and love them. I also have Bauer Supreme 5000 and they are good. I had a pair of Nike Quest 1 pants and ended up selling them. Did not like the fit AT ALL. Felt like I was wearing a barrell with shoulder straps. I think this topic has been covered in the past and decided that Tackla or Mission were the preferred, but presonal fit is always paramount. Hope this helps!!!

i dunno about the mission m-1's. my high school team got them last yr and i thought they were really bulky...lots of padding in them, more then i prefer...plus mine were a large while i prefer the medium, so i ended up wearing my mediums 652's with pant shells for most of the year. m-1's are pretty good buy if you want a lot of protection for a good price, but you said you didn't want the big spine protector so the missions are kinda outta the question

Actually, I don't find the Mission spine protector to be large or bulky. I don't have any problems with my jersey getting tucked into it at all, it's nothing like the Nike.

I was just reading about girdles in another post, would that be better for me to get since I don't like the spine protector, and are girdles any better than pants and vice versa? Thanks.

I like the girdle better because

1) the pads seem to stay were they are supposed to be protecting (things seem to shift depending on body positon in pants)

2) I can just switch shells depending on team colors (or wear with roller pants if I want)

I do seem to get a little hotter in the girdle compared to just wearing my Bauer Supreme 5000's

I got Easton Air pants about 4 months ago, I love them they we're on special because they we're the 2002 model and they don't have the back pad which is what I wanted, they have very good protection.

Where can you find a nice pair of Tacklas with leg zippers for a pretty good price? I've never really looked into Tacklas at all.

You should go for ccm 652 or 852, great fit and reasonable price.

Actually, I think you can get much better products for the price of those pants.

I don't know what tackla comes with zippers but my lHS didn't have them so I got the air 9000's which is a very nice pant and just had one of my moms friend cut and sew zippers on them, and it turned out very nice. I am sure any taylor or sewing shop around you can do it.

I've found that the grafs fit the same and have leg zippers, but I have heard they don't last as long.

What is the difference between the Easton air 2000, 2001 and 2002???
