i've had them (10EE) for about 3 months. they're nice skates but on tight turns i can feel the outer side of the inner skate making contact with the ice, causing me to lose grip and fall. is that a known issue with the Fuel series or is it just my crappy skating?

I've never had that problem on ice but I've encountered it in roller... Normally it's the chassis touching the ground.

I'm not sure but I would think that you'd lose your edge before you got to that point.

never had any such problems with another skate, and low steel can't be it - i've only had them shaprened 3-4 times.

i compared the width on the side of the pinky toe to my old S300s, and the XPs are a lot wider there, where it touches the ice.

Toughing it out probably isnt the best solution. It might be the cheapest, but not the best. I had similar problems that you had when I was in the Easton synergy skates (1300 and 1500). I tried to tough it out, but all that happened was the skate wore out alot quicker in those areas. The more you fight it, the more you might throw off your game and the more you will wear your boots down. Just get them shimmed all over like JR said and save yourself some time and frustration.

At first I didnt understand the title to the thread until I read it but I have had the same issue with my S15's now that it has been brought up. So freaking weird. I do however think that it may be the steel in my case.

I do that from time to time.. but I just attribute to making too tight of a turn or resting too much weight on the foot that is doing the bottoming out.. but I'd say it happens from trying to make a 180 in about 1 ft radius of a turn at full speed and grinding so hard in on ur heels and getting so low that the skates bottom out. actually thats the most thought i've ever put into this. as this doesn't happen too often, I don't consider it a problem.

I can do it with my 1500's, I never really noticed it until I started using a 5/8" hollow though. Makes for a little bit more wear on the skates but not a big enough problem that I would trust a shop around here to try to fix it. In fact I would rather leave it then change the dynamics of the skate itself - no to mention the risk of an idiot messing up your holder install.

Hey atleast you know you've got good edge control right?

went to shinny today and didnt have said problem. i've been trying to shift my weight backwards more on tight turns and its giving me a bit more bite

yeah, i would keep skating in them because i think you'll learn to prevent it. i'm able to bottom out on the last 3 pair of skates ive had with brand new steel, but i've learned how far to go. sometimes i feel the skate graze the ice but its not enough to cause me to lose an edge.

had a game tonight and sort of felt it again. i didnt fall but had a couple of close calls. it seems to me that it's caused by my feet supinating and the wideness of the forefoot. basically when im standing straight my blades are pointed this way \ /

any fixes?
