Weird stick combination

Photoshop?

It looks like the lower RBK portion is actually bigger than the upper part of the shaft.... either that or it looks like a rubber "sleeve".

Could CCM/Rbk be a sponsor or equipment supplier of the team? Therefore the sponsor's brand or logo has to be shown?

Yea that's what I was thinking, but if that was the case wouldn't you think they'd cover up the easton part too?

looks to me like the shaft was spray painted black, and then the RBK was sprayed in white with a stencil. note the chipping of the paint, and the terrible lack of fine detail on the RBK, especially the K.

probably a sponsorship thing.

i agree, cuz the blade obviously looks like an SE

but it does look like a wrapping of some sort too...reinforcement?

although the "rbk" is definitely a sponsor issue

Yep ... in the worlds a lot of the time they are only allowed to "use" the sponsors equipment for the competition/team. I remember a few GB team guys complaining about it years ago in the late 90's.

A lot of guys seemed to just spray and black out their sticks where the logos are. But that still doesn't explain why the stick in the picture is half and half, assume it is because he didn't want the paint where most of the grip/smoothness is on the shaft when puck handling/shooting etc.

I think they used to do the same in the Swiss league (and mabye other Euro leagues), as I recall seeing a picture of Stacey Roast (think that's how his name is spelt) and he had a UL shaft with their teams sponsors stickers covering the Easton logos.

Bingo

But if it was a sponsorship thing, wouldn't his gloves have to somewhere display the RBK logo? I know CCM and RBK are the same company, but they have different marketing/advertising.

usually there is a limit of allowed non sponsership gear, and gloves and helemt would be easiest to change to if you didnt like that company but if you dont like RBK skates, and gloves it might be a little harder to get use to.
