Skokan

L-2 question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I went to the IIHF inline hockey world championship in Germany (Bad Tölz).

After the final game, I was able to buy a couple of sticks at the USA locker room.

One of them sticks is a Mission L-2, at least that is what it looks like.

My concern is, I doesn't seem tapered to me, in fact actually there is a Sher-Wood 950 SR blade on it (which according to Sher-Wood is not tapered).

The fact that it's not tapered is more a good thing to me since it is impossible to find tapered blades around here in Belgium.

The stick feels really light anyway, so it's not just a painted tube.

The paintjob looks really professional.

I was wondering if you guys had any info/thoughts about this.

Thanks for your reactions

the blade was shaved down to fit in the shaft.

Or it's an M1 shaft that was painted to look like an L2.

well I bought an M-2, and it appears to be tapered and has some soft grip on it.

I compared it today with skokan's L-2... Probably that way because they're pro issued...

Justin, any ideas why they haven't shown up in the northeast? Is it because Mission is a bigger seller in roller markets or because Mission is having trouble in the traditional ice markets, ie. New England?

Ask your LHS if they are going to get them...we just received ours...

I am told that Mission is shipping daily right now on the L-2.

Ouch, $169 here for a combo. A buddy of mine just got one, i tried it and it had a really nice feel to it with a Hull blade. I would concider it for a next stick.

On a related matter, I have yet to see the L-2 make its way out east.  Anyone know what the holdup could be?

I've been using one for almost a month now... in OH.

and $169 is a pretty fine deal when you consider it's a tapered shaft and TWO carbon blades...

That's why I'm anxious to see them out this way. I think its a good deal but I don't like to buy sight unseen.

We are receiving about 350 sticks a day...Trying to catch up on back orders...As soon as they come in...They go out....

Well, get cracking, dammit! (j/k) My birthday's next week and my girlfriend usually tosses in a nice LHS gift certificate and I was hoping to give an L-2 a gander as an option. My R-2 and Synth Grip are aging and given how much I liked my M-1 and the Iggy pattern it could be time to snag a L-2 with the expected gift certificate.
