Looking for some tips for keeping my full Itech shield from fogging?????

Tried all the spray stuff.....? Only last for like one shift, As soon as I hit it with the cloth it is over.

Thinking of trading it for a cage......

Thanks for the tips >

i don't know how well this would work but it might....what about saliva?

i remember learning that swimmers could spit in their goggles, rub it in and wash it out and that it would keep them from fogging up...maybe it would work with your visor? could be a messy job but...who knows :P

I too have this same problem. Although I guess I don't sweat that much, so it isn't fatal or anything, but it's a pain. If anyone finds a unified solution, I would really appreciate it.

bird cage, more air flow, no fogging. This is something that effects players world wide. How old is your visor? I assume is a full shield. Maybe try one of the half shield half cage combos. If you get a cage go with a white one or a "true vision" one. Those are the best. You don't even notice them when looking through them.

why isn't this in the equipment forum?

Don't hit it with a cloth between shifts. If the shield fogs on the bench then just put your face over the boards for a few seconds or wave a little cold air under the shield. The fog will go away.

i use these individual wipes called C-Clear, made for safety glasses and such. They have a anti-fog,and anti-static formula on them that seems to work well for me.

Consider pulling your visor further away from your helmet. The sides of the visor have the long channels where the screws go...just loosen them, pull the visor away a bit, and tighten them back down. That will allow some more airflow and should help a little with the fogging.

I use the spray and never have a problem, and I don't even use the spray every time I skate really. In fact I rarely even bring a cloth onto the bench, If it does get a little wet I'll use my jersey.

The only time I'll ever get any fog on the visor is if I unbuckle the strap and prop the helmet up on my head, so the visor is somewhat in my hair.

the visor is a Itech Pro wave HS22 half shield.

Pledge (the spray) is popular around here, and seems to work pretty well. And, you can shine your helmet at the same time! :D
