On90 skates price lowered...

Recommended Posts

Recently, I went to my LHS for the first time in a long time, and saw that the NBH Supreme One90 Skates were lowered in price. I forget whether it was $499 or $399 CDN, but it was lowered significantly from it's initial price and it is lower than the XXXX or the 9K, or the top end Graf models. Is this because of the durability issues the skates have been having? Or are they just gearing up for a new model, so as to blow out the old stock?

The ONE95 will be makings it mark in stores soon. So that is most likely why. I have buddies that are playing pro and they all commented on how bad they fell apart too.

HG just quoted me $399. And 9k whites are $329. Vector 10 SE's at $299. Good time to be buying skates! Too bad I don't have an extra $400 though...

I think in the good deal thread they showed up for sub $330 somewhere.

CDN retail I don't think you are going to see them drop for a looong time.

I know National has the one90's for $499 and I heard that Hockey experts should price match at beat that by 10%.. but I bet they will have some lame excuse why they can not do it lol.

I heard hockey experts had it for $499 CND with 40% off so you pay less then $300 in the end.

Cheers

Whaa? No way.

Just a FYI, you're not supposed to post those prices. That is why they have a "call for price" or "email for price."

Maybe the dealers aren't supposed to post prices under certain conditions, but where does it say in MSH's rules that users can't post prices they've found ?

1. That restriction is for shops, not average people

2. They're on closeout so it's not a big deal to us

Did you see them at Cyclone Taylor? I talked to an employee there and he says it's strictly because the ONE95 is coming out soon so they want to clear out their ONE90 skates.

From what I have read in the equipment review started by JR, it sounded like the skates hold out pretty well, but on other threads, people have been complaining that the boots are falling apart after 6 months. So, how is the durability, really? I know, I know, it all depeands on how much you skate and how you take care of them. I, for one, hang them up, take the insoles out and dry them out proper each time. Does that make them last longer? What I really am trying to get to is: is there an inherent durability issue with this model of skates? Maybe JR and other who liked these skates can possibly weigh in. Thanks!

Well from what I gather it cant be that bad of a skate due to the carry over of the 75 that will for the most part be the 90. Not to mention that a lot of Pro's are still in them.

True, but a lot of pros are wearing old school skates painted up LIKE a One90. And what do they care if they fall apart after 3 months.... they just get a new pair. I know certain "performance" gear has a short lifespan, and that's ok, if I walk into it knowing that's the case. But is'a another story if these were perceived to be high performance as well as durable..... Just trying to suss out the situation before investing in them, that's all.
