French Connection 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Looking for some advise on an inexpensive pair of gloves $40 to $60. just stick handling with my kids and some pond pick ups games. not real big hands @ 8". looking for something light, flexible, thin palm for good feel. haven't tried gloves on in a long time, how do you know how long they should be? 14" 15"? is it simply the elblow pad overlap? thx
Rustpot 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 If you go to your local hockey store you can try on quite a few different pairs and get to select what you will like the most.If you don't have a store dedicated to hockey, Play it Again Sports or other chain sports stores will have limited hockey equipment that you can try out. I'm not sure if they will if you live in the south outside one of the hockey cities though. If you give approximate hand measurements I'm sure we'll be able to find something that should fit and you can order a pair online that fits your description.I personally am 6' tall and wear XXL or bigger regular gloves. I find most pairs of 15" hockey gloves too short in the finger and cuff for my hand. My hand is ~8.5" from wrist to tip of middle finger and ~4.5" across the palm. My fingers are 3.5, 4, 3.5 and 2.75" long.

Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Vapor X are good for the money...I was going to suggest these. Or any low end RbK (4K or lower) or CCM Vector or Tacks pricepoint line. Mission also makes some decent $30+ mitts.

trevor13478 1 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 my vote goes to the vapors, all of the lower end models are very reasonably priced
AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/h...y_1981_33976926I was actually going to suggest these, so I'll second that. Great, stylish (not that it really matters) glove for great money. I'm sure AllSmoke can 3rd on these, as I sold him my pair and he seemed very satisfied. Jarick 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 I went from CCM Vector Pro's to Vapor Apollos and have been pretty happy. Can't go wrong with anything from the Vapor series IF YOU LIKE THE FIT.

rollerskater92 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 The synergy 300s are good gloves for the price and so are the rbk 3ks. their both comfortable and durable.
sc37 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Thanks guys, is pigskin much thicker than nash?Yes...and I didn't like the feel of leather. Nash feels much nicer, though it won't last as long. I personally just picked up some Rbks to hold me over until I can find the exact glove I want...but for the money they are pretty decent. The Missions weren't too bad either, and would have spent money on Vapors or Supremes, but the models and colors I wanted weren't available.
