I believe the shoulder caps for the Lightspeeds and the 6000's are the same. I have the Lightspeeds and they are a very good and protective shoulder pad with good mobility, however; they are noth the least bulky shoulder pad out there. For beer league, they are overkill, but for a full contact or ever a light check league, they offer excelent protection with good mobility and light weight.

I play varsity high school hockey...I am more of a skilled player and I like the mobility...I'd take mobility over protection if that helps...obviously I like some protection but I think the 6000 are to much for my style

I'll second Chadd's recomendation for the Itechs- There will be a pair at whatever protection level/price point suits you. Great bang for the buck.

You may also want to consider the RBK 5 or 6K, Mission Fuel 85 or the Easton Stealth S-9, S-5 or the Synergy 700's. All are low profile shoulder pads with great protection.

I have mission fuel 900 shoulder pads which are pretty much the same as the fuel 110. The protection is really really good and the shoulder caps are low profile, mobility is also good but they are kinda bulky compared to my old shoulder pads. My old shoulder pads were really light tho so i don't know how they compare to other brands with the same level of protection.

farrells= lightest, loosefitting, safest, and most comfortable shoulder pads out there. i love mine. i warn you that when you put them on your gonna think that they wont protect you at all because they are loose and light and might feel awkward at first. skate around in them for an hour or so at practice and youll never go back. so much easier to skate in these than tighter fitting other models.

Also when you buy farrells try on the small first even if you are enormous. move up if you need to to the medium... but once you hit large there probly way too big for you. they run huge..
