Montreal Nitro Lite

well if that is true and warrior did buy montreal - i hope it was so they could improve (steal) their technology and not just to eliminate some competition. especially if their sticks are as good as everyone on here is saying.

I can see why they would buy Montreal. Wood sticks/blades and more importantly goalie sticks. They probably don't know that the reason their foam core goal sticks and woodies are soo good is because of the finnish wood.

it could also be a benefit to Montreal because just like Innovative, they have good products, but not a very large number of customers (here in the US anyway)...

Maybe they'll re-vamp the image of Montreal and get more sale from their stuff..

However much i don't like Warrior, i have to admit, they've really made a statement in the hockey world, coming from a lacrosse company to buying Innovative and selling their stuff with a new name on it, and getting a LOT of consumers...

just as long as warrior doesn't resort to juvenile assenine names like the johnson. who wants to bet that the classic montreal woodies get named the morning wood?:blink:

Yep.

The only wood that's anywhere near as good is the ash TPS was using in the Omega series. I haven't had a chance to try the renamed 'Aircraft Core' or whatever the hell they're calling their Response-series all-wood goalie sticks, but someone had hinted previously that it wasn't the same stuff. Maybe the pro-stocks are the same, I don't know.

I should drag my Roli Omegas down to THR and compare, if I weren't as lazy as a giant slug.

Almost any goalie "in-the-know" has at least considered a Montreal goalie stick. My shop doesn't carry them YET one of the guys uses Montreal exclusively, same guy that offered to give me his 9K OPS.

LG, Never tried any TPS sticks. My mistress was the 590.

I have 4 right handed LD (Lindstrom Curve?) Force's in a 90 flex that I am willing to sell. They are all brand new. E-mail me at turcotte44@gmail.com if you're interested.

P.S. I also have a RH 100 Flex P91 Vapor XXX Lite Ottawa 67's Edition stick for sale as well

Always wanted to try a Montreal woodie. Used an old Muskoka back in '03. Loved it. Still tinkering w/NBH woodies and blades. If Warrior does come out with rebranded woodies I'll give them a shot. Who knows maybe they'll paint them to look like OPS's.

I had one, and I hated it. Too heavy and felt clunky. I like wood, but this was not very responsive at all.

Well it'd be nice to get better distribution for Montreal products. And if they can make a tapered wood blade, that'd be great. The M95 is the most durable wood blade I've used.

does anyone know where i can get a Nitro Force OPS?...preferably online

We've got a couple of righties in my shop. 95 flex. Sakic clones.

LKPT, were your nitro's exact Sakic clones? The one I have says SK (Sakic), but the lie and rocker are pretty different compared to the Sakic.

Pretty much spot-on. Lie and rocker were very close, if not exact. Toes weren't AS rounded as the Sakic, but were far from squared. I would take pictures, but we don't have any more of 'em.

Anyone know what the Euro curve would compare to on other sticks? I've found a couple of the Montreal ones, but they are pretty hard to find. I'm thinking about switching from OPS to two piece, and I like the Montreal blades.

I used to use Montreal Sticks and I absolutely loved them! Very light, they felt sturdy as hell, but like most sticks it tooke me 2-3 weeks to break them. Luckily I knew someone high up in Montreal hockey, so I kept getting free ones back because they're supposed to last long.

I have a montreal nitro force 2 piece and this is by far the best stick i have used. I bought a seventy flex but cut 3 inches off. montreal sticks do come long. as long as a regular stick with a 3 inch plug. the flex is awesome, a great shooting stick. good feel. wristers just launch off this thing. with my easton sakic wood blade puck feel and control is excellent. i would recommend this to anybody looking for a nice shaft. I am gonna try and stock up before warrior does something terrible to them...

stupid warrior. just when i found a stick i liked warrior had to come along and spoil the party.

Not a weight whore by any means, but how much does this thing weigh?

I'd like to know this as well. How much does this stick weigh and how's the balance?

Montreal claims it as a Lidstrom clone, but take your own guess. They already have an Iginla (IG), Modano (MD), Sakic (SK), Numminen (NUM), and of course the Euro Curve. MD is a 5 lie BTW.

ya because the lidstrom is more of a heel curve and the toe is more square

Still trying to find out about the weight and balance of this stick. ANYONE???

Also, shaft size (boxy, rounded, contoured), length, and whippiness (as compared to Easton)?

Thanks!
