If a team forfeits, the official score is recorded as a 1-0 loss, ...so who gets credit for the goal in the stats, if anyone?

The Captain of the team gets the goal, no assist is recorded.

i know the league i play in when a team has to forfeit it is a 1-0 win and there is a 200$ fine.

What league/level of hockey are you playing in?

It used to be 5-0 for us in juniors and the goals went to "bench" who also gained alot of PiMs due to sloppy changes.

USA Hockey Adult Men's League (local beer league) But just a general knowledge type question as well.

In our league its 1-0 and there is also a fine but i couldn't remember how much. I know it's over $100 dollars. I don't know who gets the goal though. I play in a women's A league in MA.

The league where a goal was awarded to the captain was a men's league in Long Beach, NY that conformed to USA hockey rules.

Most leagues it is 1-0 and the Goal is given to the team captain

Where does the fine go? Is it split between the other team or does the league pocket it?

here in Cincy, the inline manager has set the forfeit at 8-0. seems a bit extreme to me, considering the first tie breaker is goal differential.

if it were justified and objective, that would be one thing.

a few weeks back, we won a game 9-2. we allowed a player to skate with us that was "earmarked" for another team, but wasn't rostered with them and hadn't played with them. he wasn't a factor in the win, but was cited at the reason we were slapped with a forfeit after the fact. Had she have told us there was a problem before the puck was dropped, he would not have played. She watched the game, and then decided she didn't like what she saw. instead of a 9-2 W, we earned a 0-8 loss.

I guess those are the rules.

We are supposed to be USA Hockey affiliated. Is there a standard procedure on the books for a forfeit?

3-0 in my beer league and they just randomly pick 3 players, the funny part was one of the goal went to our goalie, we had a good laugh in the locker room talking about how many ways he could have gotten it. :lol:
