Which B's fans were watching NESN tonight pre game?

Recommended Posts

My sign which said "Fear Lucic, 1+7=8" made it into Rob Simpson's interview with Lucic pre game. And they panned the camera on me in the crowd when I was going nuts spilling my beers after two of the Bruins' goals. W00T still psyched and a little intoximicated, go spoked B's!

I don't know what is sadder, being an adult and bringing a sign to the game or breaking one of the unwritten rules of Bruins fans, never compare a player to Orr, Neely, or Bourque.

Get off my balls, chippa.

I have been a Bruins fan all my life, as well as many of my family and friends, and nobody sees any issue in comparing this kid to Neely. Matter of fact, most of the Bruins nation compares him to Neely.

As for the "age" comment...I wasn't the only one there with a sign. Matter of fact there were some geezers there with signs as well that made me look like a baby. My sign was the shit though as Simspon pointed to me from the bench and made the roll cameras motion right as Lucic skated over to him for the interview, then Lucic came over and gave me a high five deal through the glass with a grin.

Stay off my balls, chippa. Flex your e-muscles in threads other than the ones I start and participate in, because it's getting old, hoser.

i think the age thing depends. A 'Go Oilers' sign would be lame for an adult, but if it was something witty it might be ok. Best signs i've ever seen were;

"the person behind me can't see"

and

"18-1" <-- someone held that up at the superbowl when the giants won.

I think everyone should just stop being an ass to everyone else and thinking you're cool for insulting people over the internet, people post here for fun, stop trying to act like a badass over the internet, you just look like a huge loser. This comment isn't pointed at anyone, it's directed to anyone who has for no reason insulted another person on here.

I just figure the people behind me deserve to see the game as much as I do, but what the hell do I know?

I held the sign up on the glass during warm ups...that's when they showed it. I am courteous to others that paid for tickets as well. I held the sign up only when Lucic scored...other than that, while the game was going on it was at my feet...FYI.

If you seem to be noticing a trend, perhaps I'm not the problem.

I was fine with the sign, bbruins8... but I'm not too keen on the "Bruins nation" terminology... haha. I try to disassociate myself, and my passions with anything Red Sox-related. I'm a Bruins fan. Period.

agreed, although I am very much a sox fan, I can't stand the whole redsox nation fad, mostly because the people who call themselves part of "the nation" are the same ones with the pink hats and can't name more that 4-5 players on the team. nothing ticks me off more than when are fans because it is fashionable.

DCott...I don't see those bandwagoners because I don't live in NE, but I can understand where you are coming from...My girlfriend (22 years of age) calls herself a Sabres fan but didn't know the name Alexander Mogilny... :)

Be very thankful you're not here. Bleacher seats infested with pink hats, and drunk chicks in Varichick tshirts. I was never a baseball fan, but would watch recreationally, even catch a game from time to time- it was basically having a brew or 2 with some of the guys outside, with a baseball going on.

I'm glad DCott said that though, because most people get on my ass when I state the whole "Red Sox Nation/Yankees Suck" fiasco is one giant fad.

Yeah but they're the two most obnoxious groups of fans ever, so to hell with them both.

You sure you don't want me to ship you a pink Sox cap, and a Varichick shirt?? hehehe

Where is that first one from? I want to bring one to a ranger game.

Living in Boston, I don't think you have the perspective to realize just how big Red Sox Nation is, although there is no doubt that some people have jumped on the bandwagon the last four years.

Since 1979, I've seen the Sox almost every year in different locations: Seattle, Oakland, Anaheim, San Diego, Denver, NY, Baltimore and Fenway. Even before the WS, the Nation was noticeably growing, particularly the "Let's Go, Red Sox!" chant. When they came to Coors Field in 2004, I said , "Man, the Rockies fans have no idea what they're in for." Sure enough, the LGRS chant started and the Rockies' fans started booing, because they were appalled a visiting team could infest their stadium so much. That continued throughout the game, just as I had seen happen in other cities even before 2004.

I also think people are lacking perspective on the pink hats. Many people connote them with a sign of bandwagon fans, since they've really popped up since the WS, but I don't remember them being widely available before the WS. I'm pretty confident we would have seen a lot of women wearing the pink back in 1998 if it had been around. Again, it's not necessarily a sign of someone who doesn't know the team. My 8-year-old daughter was telling us who was next in the batting order during the playoffs -- something The Big D vowed she'd do at our wedding, which she broke, although she says it has something to do with my vow about folding laundry.... Anyway, my daughter would rather wear pink than blue.
