Z-Bubble + Z-Carbon Blade = No-no?

Recommended Posts

So ive heard that you shouldnt put a Z-Carbon blade in a Z-Bubble shaft because both have this focus flex zone and it wouldnt be a good combination.

I somehow cant make up my own mind, it sounds locigal, but that does not have to say anything.

So, whats up? Myth or goalscoring machine?

I know a few guys who have used a Bubble/Focus Flex combo and they say the focus flex zone and the end of the bubble shaft together don't make a difference in feel or performance.

I agree that it's just a gimmick, just like Warrior's Spyne technology.

The other guys have their opinion but that combo is one of my favorite ever. I did happen to feel flex from the blade but others may not notice it.

And I did score quite a few goals with the set up.

from what I've been told it has nothing to do with the focus flex blade. Its the fact because the Z-bubble "bubbles" its weaker than the blade and encourages breaking in that area. I personally broke one before I decided to believe that. I hated the combo but that is pp.

I agree with Keith. You can really feel the shaft flex really down low at the parabolic flex zone (shaft that is) so it definitely makes for a quicker release. My problem with the combo is catching a hard pass cleanly because it feels like the puck just catapults right off. This has probably more to do with my stone hands that the design of the blade and/or shaft, but imagine all those times that you're trying to catch a hard pass off the fly...pretty hard to cushion them when there's so little room for error.

I've used Z-Bubbles for the better part of 4 years (or longer) and have had Z-Carbon's and Si-Core blades in them several times. I prefer wood blades, but I never noticed anything out-of-the-ordinary performance-wise, or in abnormal breakage.

I'm a pretty small person, not particularly strong, and it allowed me to shoot and pass a lot quicker/harder than other setups. There were some sacrifices feel-wise of course, but not anymore than you sacrifice with any other full-composite setup.

Had a focus flex blade, didnt notice any difference between a focus flex blade or a regular hosel-ed blade.

Some of you already know I hate the zbubble, think I'd rather use a xxxlite. :o
