"Successor" to the XN10?

Recommended Posts

No, its a graphite blade. The XN10 carbon's in the shaft.

Got it. I'm very uneducated with the different materials between the shafts and blades. So is the new blade a better feeling blade? What blade would one say it is similar in FEEL to?

Furthermore, I think it looks cool. The chrome is a great finish and the black trim is just perfect. Not a big mix of colors; the way a chrome stick should look IMHO.

I agree 100%. Hot yet simple look. Less is more.

They say:Produces a blade that is 30x more durable than the first graphite blade that they produced in 2000. In addition, the toe and the entire blade perimeter have been reinforced more than ever before.

So is the blade made of the same amorphous carbon material or is it something different?

Will this come in a GRIP model as well?

I have a couple of the new style blades and I can confirm that they are tanks. You could probably drive nails with them.

one of my biggest regrets in life was not stockpiling up r2 xn10 shafts when my lhs was blowing them off for $99 a few years back :P

I haven't played with a Louisville stick (woodie) in over ten years. So I know absolutley nothing about their OPS today. With that disclaimer of ignorance, how would this stick compare to, say, a SWD RM19, a CCM V10.0 Catapult, or an Easton Syn ST? (I am entitled to at least one of these kind of questions, right? lol)

The one closest to the stick just released. Just trying to get an idea in general terms since my LHS doesn't carry any TPS sticks and I just snapped (again) by beloved RM19.

Is the lack of grip and whip flex options possibly due to the fact that TPS wants to see if this technology will still be popular to consumers prior to a more full scale release next year?

No, it is a SMU for HockeyGiant.

TPS is coming out with a chrome R6 and a chrome/gunmetal R10 in their lineup. That'll have more options most likely.

Holy crap!! 12k carbon... best stick ever!

I like the look a lot, generally not a fan of all but the most recent of TPS sticks.

But this will likely be the only XN10 release?

I think the R10 is their new, latest and greatest so they're going to run with it a while. Still, a LOT of people would buy xn10's @$149 if they had a decent variety of flexes and curves...

Any body know if the construction of this stick lends itself to making it into a two piece shaft and blade? Is this a true one piece or a glue job?

I break blades a lot faster than shafts.

You have to heat the piss out of them, but you can pull the blades.

Once the blade has been pulled, do you have to cut the shaft at all or will normal tapered blades fit nicely?

That's really too bad about no whip flex planned. Guess I'll resume my search for a 70 flex shaft that isn't quite so boxy...

Just got mine in today and I am impressed. The 435 grams seems just a touch optimistic as my postal scale came in at 450 grams, but I am not a gram counter....just mentioning it for reference. As has been stated already, the stick feels very well balanced, with a touch of being blade heavy. I'm quite used to inserting 2-4" of wood tenon (not extension) into my TPS' for my personal balance and I am going to try this one out tomorrow night with no plug, but it feels as though the most it would need would be 2" worth. For those questioning the curve, the Nash on the XN10 is the same Nash that we have all loved for a couple of years now. The stick does have the double concave shaft shaft with the radius corners for a soft feel in your hands. The shaft is grip free also.

Look at how the light comes off that bad boy, just imagine how the puck will. Just for reference though, is new Nash pattern is a slight heel curve with a 5.5 lie?

New Nash is listed as a 5/8 Heel with a center twist in a 5.5 lie
