My mom ordered a San Jose Sharks Joe Thornton jersey from them for my 7 year old son for Christmas. They spelled it "Thorton".

Was it selected from a drop down of players names...or did she mis-type it when she ordered?

Yeah, it's a drop down list of player names.

I know Im an asshole for saying this but its pretty funny, I mean I would be pissed off about it initially if it happend to me, but I know all the lads in the change rooms would get a kick out of NHL.com's error.

Maybe send a letter to Luongo and ask him to change his name so your jersey is correct. ;)

that sucks. did they replace it for you?

Yeah, we didn't have any problems getting it replaced. I just thought it was funny that the name of the best player on the team gets misspelled when you order from the team store.

Few years back when Gretz was with the Rangers he played an entire period with the name spelled "GRETKZY"

I know people who still pronounce it that way *L*

That is pretty funny. I'm sure they'l replace it no problem for you like the other guy said. You should demand that you not pay for shipping though, but I think they won't say anything and it'll be fine.

Funny though.

Not to add insult to injury but the lettering they used is also incorrect. You've got the vintage style lettering rather than the current style.

Man, to think my biggest gripe/mishap is the fact a lot of places won't use apostrophes in the names.

Wow I remember when I had my own jersey misspelled by our teams jersey guy, but holy hell!!! It's almost similar to the urband legend that the NY Rangers did when they had Lorne Chabot as a goalie back in the 1930's. the team's manegment, according to legend, tried to convince the goaltender to change his name to chabotsky... in an effort to entice jewish members of the community to come to games.

ive had quite a few blunders on my personal jerseys, first year in highschool i wore METKALF when its really spelled METCALF, and there have been a few youth leagues i had to wear METCALFE, and METCLAF. the funny thing is, I was never the first one to notice that it was spelled wrong, it was always a coach or a friend
