Color of skates and holders

I'm curious as to why some companies will go out of their way to produce a skate like the Vector SE (ALL BLACK including holders) as well as RBK White skates but others wont even make black holders available as an option. I know that it has been discussed on this board that in theroy black holders dont hold up as well because of the color dye having to do something with the durability of the holders. If this is the case I would like to know from some members what their experience has been with the durability of the black EPRO holders that came on the Vector SE's and how they have held up comparitivly to the white models.

Yeah, I've never believed that strength/durability thing. Non-white holders have been pretty standard in the past, and I had skates with black Custom+ holders for a long time, and had no problems. I'm sure from a technical/theoretical standpoint, there is base for that claim, but I've skated on black holders and white holders, and noticed no difference. With all things being equal performance wise (I know they technically may not be, but it's close enough that I can't tell), I'd greatly prefer black holders. Enough so that I would buy them, and have them mounted on my skates without much of a second thought if they became available.

If I was told accurately, black Mission holders exist/existed... they were hella-scarce from what I gathered though.

Black holders make you look slower than white holders. I bet it's because the black dye weighs the holders down immensely :)

HAHAHAHA!! I just find it odd that NBH doesnt produce a short run of LS2 holders for the public. I think they would make their money back ASAP just from the likes of us here on this board let alone the rest of North America.
