Tour Blades

Recommended Posts

So hockeygiant has Tour crossgrip comp. blades for $7.50 Only available in pattern G1. Did some searching but cannot find out what this pattern is and if it was standard or tapered, of course the customer rep didnt know, he just said they had about a thousand or so and he had no idea about them (doesnt surprise me). Does anybody know? I went ahead and picked up a couple, but was just wondering. Thanks.

Any idea what the pattern looks like?

The curve looks kinda like my Warrior Recchi but deeper. Doesn't seem too durable.

$7.50/each is a pretty good deal.. Until '08 Tour only had one curve on any of their sticks, the Yoder (Modano clone). So my guess is that..

Recchi is CCM, no?

Yep, retail, I believe. But the few Warrior Dolomite pro stock blades I got from HM have Recchi printed on the sticker an Recchy on the blade itself.

Yeah, I guess you can call it a Modano clone but deeper (some).

There's a guy named Yoder that plays in our league. Complete hack. Hope that's not an omen.

If you go to the Tour webpage, and look at their stick selection, the Cobalt Q lists two blade types, Yoder, which they say is similar to Iginla, and Cernick, which they say is similar to a Modo. I swear in the past they've said the Yoder was a Modo clone. Those blades aren't super far apart, but it's not like they're the same either.

I don't see any mention on the page of replacement blades specifically, and nothing about a g-1, but it's most likely going to be one of those.

Jeffw: CJ Yoder is pretty much THE inline hockey guy. I don't follow any level of inline hockey, but he's always cited as the future and best current player in the sport.

I had one for roller hockey. Bought it for $5.00 on clearance and it's terrible blade. Feels cheap and like plastic like mentioned before.

i tried giving a few away. Get a wood blade instead. If you're playing on a street somewhere, or wanna heat it up and yank it under a door to make an insane curve (that has no feel and warps like crazy) then buy em.

I was not pleased with these blades at all....

Yeah, I got sucked into buying these at 2.99 a pop. They are pretty awful. I've yet to actually use them due to being able to flex them with my hands. Much closer to a Mylec blade than a composite like they were described/pictured as.

Also, I am amazed that the MSRP was 59.99… I'd love to hear the thinking behind that.

I'm also guilty. At least they were cheap. I tried curving one just for the hell of it and seemed like it was going to melt. They're not even worth the 2.99. I would use one for street hockey, that's about it. I agree that Mylec is a good blade to compare these to.
