Mission Fuel 110 Pants

Recommended Posts

i had them for about half a season and i didn't like them at all. They were very bulky and had this annoying flap in the front under the dual belt system. If you're looking for pure protection i think these are a good deal but they're deffinitely not the most comfortable or mobile pants i've worn

T- sorry the pants did not work out for you. perhaps the fit was not for you. the design team made sure that the fit was " cleaned up " as compared to the L series ( perhaps more like a designer jean ). i have not heard of the flap that you are referring to. overall the pant has been very well received. some things are not for everybody.

OP-- what did you end up going with?

God Damn...

I just wrote a hell of a review only to have my window closed... crap.. let me rewrite it real quick!

Fit!

Personally i think that these pants are very comfy! Breathable and light! Someone said that they are too bulky but i have to disagree. They have a fairly cool slim design. Compare to other guys' pants, my look much slimmer and i do not look like i have a cow's butt or very wide hips lol. They have a cool feature that allows you to move waist line up and down. There are 2 sets or buttons that will allow u to make it an inch or 2 up/down. I like em long, personally. Of course it has all those cheezy features that every other pair does like zippers and velcro that keeps the zipper secured. When i skate, and im a fast skater who leans forward very aggressively, i do not feel any restrictions. I guess these pants have been build for my type.

Protection

This was my concern when i was buying em, but Zac just told me to give it a shot. In reality, if u go to pro shops and feel other pants, you can notice that their padding feels kind of thicker and stronger. If that does mean that they have a better protection then let it be. I was concerned about it too when i bought em. Since im new to the Ice hockey, i havent have experience with other brands so i cant compare these pants to others. But what i can tell you is that i had a few falls on the ice, slid a few times into the boards, ran into the boards while trying to keep the puck in the zone etc and havent have any painful experiences.

If you put these pants on, you'll notice that the area above main thigh protector and hip protector is not protected (there is a little area that goes from the cup region). I was concerned about it for some time but then noticed that pretty much most of this unprotected area disappears when i skate or just stay on the ice with my knees bent a little. And since that is how i play, well, there is not much room left without protection.

Tailbone, Spine, Kidneys have, in my opinion, very thick, light, and comfortable protection. Never had any pain in those areas.

However, the little gap that can be seen around buttcheeks can give u a stinger if u run into the boars with a little angle... but nothing major.

I havent taken any shots off with these pants but the way they have protected me during my falls/runs into the boards i feel very confident to take em. Just hope the puck will miss my balls/inner thigh......

what else...

Durability... cant really say yet... ive played in em about 10 games so far... but they still look like brand new. I really like the material they are made of not really a typical one that can be seen on some other pants.

Have specific question, post and ill try to give my feedback!

If your looking for a hockey pant that is reasonably priced, durable and very protective the Mission 110 is the way to go. For 80 bucks you get a top level pant that is very well ventilated to boot, much better than a lot of other brands on the market. Your getting an elite pant at a level that costs you as much as forty to forty five dollars more if you buy another manufacturers brand. Mission has always given you some of the best bang for your buck when it comes to protective equipment and skates as well. Although some of their protective equipment is a bit on the bulky side the pants are in line with just about anything else out there. Indeed I would even go up to the Mission 120 if I was purchasing them the only difference being the belly guard is a little more padded. They run for about just over a hundred dollars but you'd pay almost twice that for another brands top of the line pant.

Anyone who is new to the game and wants to outfit themselves in some decent equipment should consider Mission equipment because you can save yourself a load of cash yet still get very good protection. Mission has found their niche in the hockey equipment world in order to compete with the big three so take advantage of the opportunity.

Anyone else have any strong opinions on these pants? Mine are getting ratty and the kidney pads have started to wear out and dig into my side (which is getting fatter and more to dig into). I was thinking of getting a new pair of breezers and I saw these for a reasonable about ($80) and seemed to have a bunch of features found on much more expensive pants. I don't recall the weight being horrid.

Its a non-contact adult beer league so they don't have to stop a bullet or anything. My old Hespeller RTX's were great, but, as I mentioned, are really starting to fall apart (and since they don't make those anymore need to find me some new ones).

Thoughts?

I have a pair of the Fuel 90's, so not exactly the same, but I really like mine. Mine don't have a huge amount of protection, but that's because they're the lower end model, obviously. What I really liked about them was the fit was better than the CCM and Easton pants I tried on. Where the Easton's and CCM's were either too big or too small, these fit nicely. The internal belt has a lot to do with that. The other pants I tried on at the same price point only had one belt on the outside, and it didn't keep them tight on my hips. With the internal belt you can snug it right up and keep them in place. Sagging pants gets really annoying.

Mine felt a little stiff at first, but they've broken in nicely now. The back/side protection is a lot better than my old Easton pants as well. They cover a lot more area. The Fuel 110's might take a little longer to break in because they're a heavier weight nylon material, plus they should have more protection/padding. I'd say if they fit nicely, give them a shot. I've noticed the 110's are pretty cheap online. I'd probly buy a pair if my 90's were on their way out, but they're only a month or so old.
