CCM Pro Stock Gloves...opinions?

Recommended Posts

Hockeymonkey has dropped the prices of their CCM Pro Stock gloves down to $70.

Anyone have any opinions on either the Vector Pro, Pro Tacks or Vector 10.0? I didn't see too many threads or reviews about CCM gloves.

Seems like a good deal, no? I'm a beginner, and currently have Vector 2.0s, but am looking to upgrade (I'm not wedded to CCM, though).

I've used a pair of Vector Pro's for almost a year...great gloves, love them. Very protective and a bit tighter fitting.

Used the protacks Sens gloves. Great gloves just the size 15 was too big for my mitts. Sold them to a kid in my league who said he was getting slashed all the live long day and he loves them. PROS Split fingers, nylon, superlight, CON standard palm with no reinforcments

I would highly recommend as an upgrade just be sure of sizing

The vectors have skinny fingers and fit nice and tight. I had the pro stock vector 10.0 from hockeymonkey and liked them a lot.

i'm on my second pair of Pro Tacks prostocks, and both have been leather. BY FAR my all-time favourite glove. they didn't feel perfectly comfortable right off the bat, but once that nash palm gets wet and breaks in, you'll feel the same way i do :)

... or you could just go with the nylon, which feel great right off the shelf.

1: Any idea if the 15" are identical to the 14" but with a longer cuff?

2: Or are they longer throughout the fingers and palms?

1: No

2: Yes

Sizing is a toss up with pro stock gloves, ordered a pair of 13"s and they were for a small child.

I'd agree with that - I ordered a pair of the 14" Toronto's and they are least a 14.5, possibly a 15. All in all, they are noticeably bigger than my retail ProTack 14's

I've got a pair of Pro Tacks from an equipment sale two years ago. They are my first pair of nylon. I love them. I like a little looser cuff and these are great. If they weren't in such great shape still, I'd pick up another pair. I just may anyway if I can do it without the wife finding out I bought more gloves.

I really want to get a pair of the pro tacks, but i have no need for a new pair of gloves.

also, why do people prefer nylon over leather?

Nylon is more light-weight, and repels water better than leather. And some just like it for the look.

That kind of logical reasoning is not welcome here at ModSquad. This guy must not be fully addicted yet ;)

I ordered 3 pair of CCM pro tack in nylon montreal 14" all three pairs were different in size in the cuff area and one pair in the length. I ended up keeping the short cuff version. All in all this is the best glove I have used in a long time. gloves I have had in the past

Sande max 720

Sande max pro trigger

eagle x70

Eagle x50

Bauer vapor xxx

Easton custom pro

Bauer supreme 5000

Tps R8 lite

I am extremely happy with these gloves!!!!

As I am back in hockey after 20+ years, I wanted some gloves that looked more "old school" than some of the newer versions. I got a pair of the all black CCM pro-stock gloves in leather for approx $70 at hockeymonkey. I really dont have much to compare them to as far as current products, but they are sure a whole lot nicer than anything I had back in the day! I did try on a pair of nylon Bauer 4-roll and they were pretty sweet as well. I am very happy with my gloves so far, but again with my lack of experience with current products, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. It does seem that they were a good deal regardless.

I reviewed the Vector Pro's in MSH's Glove section. I love 'em, wouldn't take another glove if you paid me.

I bought Sens Pro-stocks from HM, but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

My black Pro Stock Vector Pros arrived in the mail today!

First impression....heavy! Much heavier than the Vector 2.0s that I've been using. I'm sure it's a combination of leather over nylon, and all the extra protective material.

They're really stiff....anyone have any recommendations for loosening them up prior to hitting the ice?

Not sure if I made the right decision yet. The other gloves I was looking at were the Bauer XXs, but they were much more expensive, and I couldn't find them in black. I made a leap of faith and got these Vectors, and I'm not sure if I like them or not.
