I thought they'd do the same thing, good to see that its still what it was. Will be weird hearing it on TSN though, not to mention the new CBC song whatever it ends up being.

...and RDS & CTV. I'm fully expecting CTV to put a HUGE push on to get Saturday night hockey rights from the NHL when CBC's deal is up.

Which is hilarious...but besides HNIC in Canada, what do you regularly watch on the CBC? For me and pretty much everybody I know the answer is 'nothing'. Olympics every 4 years maybe?

I used to watch CBC News Windsor at 6pm when I was in MI.

I think the kids theme is decent when you listen to it with the video opening...it seems to have some 'hits' at the right places....obviously not as dramatic as the original HNIC theme. But, if the 13 year old wins...that probably sets up a nice little career for him as (potentially) the next John Williams or David Foster.

Someone at work was musing that the other guys sounds too much like the 'Dallas' theme...I kinda get that now that I listen to it again.

They coulda just paid Stopmin' Tom and used the Hockey Song...I'm kinda surprised they didn't. Mayeb they figured they didn't want to reward Tom for his years of hating the media.

I'm loving that TSN isn't just using the song once per night as a 'theme song" they are using it at every commercial break as a bumper piece as well. Making WAY better use of it then CBC did. Wonder if that will stay all year or whether that is just an opening night thing.

It's funny...CBC's new intro graphics are very similar...looks like a video game.

I think CBC's intro is better than TSN's, I just wish they kept the song.
