The point I was trying to make is that WD-40 will take the water out, but yeah, you don't want to use it as a lube, because that's not what it was made for.

Couldn't you seal the edge of the bolt with some rubber-based compound?I used to pull snow out of the recess of the retainer bolt all the time too.

I think the problem is not from the outside but more inside. The bolt faces downward so water/moisture is going upwards into the bolt/screw.

I believe water is seeping through between the spacing between the steel and holder.

I unscrewed everything and put thick automotive grease around the threading inside the bolt so hopefully it will minimize rusting.

White grease would probably make it a little more aesthetically pleasing as well.

Hey guys,

Just wanted you tell you that I didn't go with the graf 705 skates.

I went with the graf 735's they felt way better than the 705's.

I highly recommend Kerry (it's a guy) at the source for sports in Niagara Falls. 3681 portage road Niagara falls on l2j 2k8.

He spend 2 and a half hours modifying my skates and making sure they were the right so I highly recommend Kerry!!!

I also bought a ccm vector v10 helmet from him and very impressed with it.

I will have up pictures tomorrow!

and have up some reviews on the 735 and the v 10 helmet

!!!

thanks for all your input.

Interesting, I originally went in for the 705's as well. After trying a few different Graf models on I also went with the 735 because it felt the most comfortable and natural. My LHS rep. also recommended them to me and after fitting them and having them on for about twenty minutes I was sold. My rep. plays the game as well at a provincial level and is probably going to the OHL very soon, so I know he knows what he's talking about. He swore by the 735's and thought I would appreciate a quality skate that would give me a more natural stride. This guy was also very good, and has some great character. Can't beat that kind of service.

So far I love the fit of the graf 735. I will be trying them tonight and will tell you how I like them, So far I have just been Lacing them up and put my feet up and they are the most comfortable skates I have ever owned or tried on. I have a huge problem with skates because I have my right foot that is a perfect 6.5 and my left foot is a 5 even.

The guy that help me with my skates was a former whl referee and World Jr. referee I thought I would be there an hour at the most but He spent 2 and half hours with me helping me find the right skates I tried on two pairs. The first one was the 705 and they didn't feel like my uncles so I just wanted to try on a different pair. So I tried on the 735 and then fell in love with them so I didn't want to try on any more pairs of skates because I liked them so much (Kerry recommend it for my type of foot and he was right) . He was very professional compared to my local store it's not the guys @ front row sports(will not name them for reasons because they give me some huge deals I just have to know what I'm getting) and it seems like their motto are "Get your shit and get out" (i used a quote from Jeff Dunham) They are no help at all!!!

So overall I am very happy with the graf skates, These skates are way lighter than my rbk 5k pumps!!

Wow 6.5 RIGHT, 5.0 LEFT - that a pretty big difference, if you got extra cash and are tired of your skate issues buying of the shelf - I would look into the custom skate route. I mean I have maybe a 1/3 size difference and that can be irratating at times, I can't imageing a 1.5 size difference!!!

Ya it's a pretty big difference!!!

I've had that since I was 6 or 7.

I've been waiting until I stop growing till I get custom skates, that way I can keep them longer.

When ever I get new shoes or skates the people are surprised and then I usually get "wow I have never seen this before"

I've skated in the size difference for so long I rarely notice it any more but eventually I will get custom skates. I'm only 15 so I figure that I will grow some more :)

maybe you can go on craigslist and post a wanted add like this:

Wanted: Hockey Player with size 6.5 LEFT and 5.0 RIGHT, so we can buy skates together then swap the left and right sides. LOL

You could buy the 6.5 skates and he could buy the 5.0 skates, then swap'em

Ya thats a 1 in a million shot.... :D

Ya I would consider it more of a 1 in a billion !!!!!!!!! :P

But my first skate went amazing!!!

It felt so much better than my rbk pumps.

Very comfortable it was my first time on the ice since the OMHA's finished (3 months) so i was a bit winded. I was playing against guys twice my age but were still very fast compared to Bantam players. Overall I was very happy about the skate and all my other new equipment.
