For the people with RV's or people that have rented charter busses

Recommended Posts

I have a quick question. How many MPG go you guys get with RV's/Charter busses? Im looking at a southern comfort type coach (35 passenger) and was wondering if anyone knows the MPG. Im trying to figure out gas costs PP.

My department at MTU hires coach charter buses, I can look into it at work tomorrow. I think we use ~65 passenger buses though.

No reason you can't call and ask either.

Do you have the proper lisence to drive it? I know I need a class 3 here to drive a 5th wheel or tandem axel vehicle, luckly I already had it before i bought the trailer.

Need a chauffeur's to drive certain vehicles, don't know if a charter would require a trucking endorsement. The company usually provides drivers and won't let you rent the bus only.

That's pretty stellar gas mileage if it's diesel.

I don't think its diesel. I could be off maybe its the 5-9 range. Its been awhile since he has driven it.

for something that big instead of figuring Mph you could figure it will cost you about $1.00 per mile to drive.

Going to cost you more than $1.00 per mile once you factor in all the other maintenance/wear items.

It probably will be more like a dollar and change per mile to drive though, but I am basing that off of figures I was given for a slightly larger Blue Lakes charter bus.

Did you ever just call and ask yet?
